Hi! I actually did receive mine. My 18 month extension letter expired in August and I got the 24 month extension last week. I didn’t expect it or inquire about it since I’m not planning on traveling any time soon.

We also received ours automatically about 4 weeks after sending in documents. And 2 months before the original expired.

  2. This happened to my wife, who was my fiance at the time. She is from Vietnam. I attended the first two interviews and she was paced in AP for 9.5 months. Then, they showed up at her home, were welcomed in and the Vietnamese employee grabbed her phone. Then, she "asked her to unlock it". They were there about an hour The officer played good cop and the Vietnamese employee accepted the bad cop role. We each received notification that she was approved within 2 days and the visa was hand delivered in 7 days (after she took her passport in). Funny thing is that they showed up 2 days after I left. I traveled there at least one every 7 weeks or so back then and usually stayed for 2 weeks at a time. I had just bought new furniture, appliances, etc as our child was about to be born. Luckily, our child was born here as I immediately returned and brought her back. Now, my in-laws have appliances and western-style furniture:)

We had been hoping they would show up for months and kept asking neighbors and family if anyone had ever stopped by to ask about our relationship. The answer was alway no, until then.

If this is me-  I would do nothing fast

The USC could change the mind again and then have to start the process all over again if you wrote and cancelled interview yourself

but i would think long and hard if i really wanted to be with this person

you don't need to come here with no family,  no friends and be left alone some time in the future

its heartbreaking,  i know ,  and so sorry this happened to you

but if this is over one little argument,  give it a few days and see what happens

I agree with this suggestion. My wife and I were extremely stressed through the process before she was finally approved, moved here and were married. She was originally denied and there was so much uncertainty. Then, we are from different cultures, so communication can deteriorate under stress. Luckily, I was able to travel often and spent about 30% of my time in her country. I remember a few trips that lasted a week or less but traveled as she was under immense stress. Many do not have the luxury of this amount of travel, especially during COVID.

Please don't withdraw until you are 100% uncertain. I do not know your situation and each relationship is different. You may want to consider postponing the interview. Please do not take an altruistic or utilitarian view about slowing the process for others. If you postpone, your appointment should be available for another applicant.  This is how we moved up our original interview. There are likely some proactive applicants checking daily for openings.

  4. We wrote every thing in 1st person. Later. When we were in administrative processing, the Senator, Congress representative and I wrote in the 3rd person. Many of my arguments were normative at that point. We just received standard responses. Then, I wrote a passionate letter in the first person that got their attention (though I again presented normative statements). This letter led to action on their end. I am not sure if 1st person voice had anything to do with it. However, the onus of proof is on those in the relationship. Thus, first-person is logical.

  5. I wanted to write a post with an attempt to give others that are facing the dreaded “Administrative Review” process encouragement.

My fiancé had her consular interview in HCMC Vietnam. At first there were a few “blue sheets”, but then it seemed everyone was approved. Later, they started turning blue again. We were worried but knew that we had everything in order. They called us up, had us swear to tell the truth and then had me sit down. The interview was in Vietnamese and my fiancé stated that the interviewer was not translating some of the questions correctly. This made her pause. At the end, they provided the “blue sheet”.  I went to the window and asked about it. I told the officer that we would have everything the next day as I needed to return to the USA.

We got to work that afternoon and had everything together the next morning. This was difficult as we needed to contact individuals that she had not seen for years, an attorney, translators, and others. We returned to the consulate and waited for three hours. We were provided a second “blue sheet” that stated that they had everything required and would make a decision. I knew that during the first interview she was asked to provide a few additional documents. However, I did not know until then that she expressed concern that she would ever be able to obtain them. These documents were not ones that I had ever read about others being asked for on Visa Journey or other sites. The consulate officer asked her why she would state that the documents would be almost impossible to obtain, but we got them in less than 24 hours.

We contacted Attorney Marc Ellis and wrote letters to the consulate within two weeks. We then sent updates each time I travelled to Vietnam (and we travelled to other countries on vacation) with photos and copies of passport stamps. We contacted the consulate every month only to receive the same reply. After with months I contacted the consulate via the website as normal to state that she was pregnant and that I did not want our baby to be born there. About a week later (two days after I left the country) a Consular Officer and local employee showed up at her home. The employee said, “give us your phone”. They both went through her phone contacts, social media and asked many questions about who various people are and about our relationship. They left after thirty minutes. Two days later another employee called to say that she needed a new medical examination and that she was approved.

I know that there are many on this site that want to judge others and state that things are easy if one is prepared. Some will also state that one should get married and file a new petition after being placed in Administrative Processing. While I do not want to give anyone advice, I know how stressful this situation is and just want others to know that not all Administrative Processing leads to denials.

Whenever I try and access this website on my iphone, I get a stupid message that says I won a $1000 walmart gift card, and I can't do anything. It only happens on my phone, and only on visajourney.com EVERY time I try. What's going on??

I had the same exact issue. Go into your browser settings and delete your history. After doing this, I have not had the issue again. You may need to delete cookies, but I did not.

  7. We just scheduled the interview for September 25th. There were many dates available in HCMC for September. I REALLY wanted to schedule it for the 5th, but my work schedule would make it rough. I wish that the HCMC Consulate did not care so much about the petitioner attending. Then again, at least we have the interview and the latter part of this process seems to be much faster!

Suddenly I feel stressed out.. Or do I really have to feel this way?

Today, I've started to gather some documents and prepare the documents for the interview.. I've checked my emails where my fiancé sent me the scan of his supporting documents.. then as I was reading the content of his W2, I found out that the address of the employer in his W2, is different to the one he wrote in his G325A and his I-134. :/ what he has written in his G325a and i-134 was the exact address of where he's working, not the employer's address that's written in his W2.. What I mean here is that he wrote where the manufacture workers work.. :((  that's not my only problem here.. His company has a mother company.. The one he's working right now is just a division or let's say a sublet.. What he wrote in the company name on the forms is the name of the mother company 😣 but on the W2, the name of the sublet is written in there.. Now I'm starting to panic. Will this lead to a denial? :((

Could you obtain a copy of the organizational chart? Then, have someone from HR write a letter in their letterhead? Is the parent firm publically traded? If so, many filing reports will list the subsidiary.

OMG seriously? I don't understand this process!! I received my case number exactly two weeks after the NOA2 approval. It makes no sense that I would get mine processed by NVC when older ones are still pending!! I wonder if they handle some reviewing on their end also that could delay some and not others? The lady I spoke with told me they "don't fully handle K1 visa's" but that they do some "light administrative processing" on the applications before sending it off to the embassy. Keep calling every day I guess and hopefully they receive/process it soon!!

I read that NVC may wait until there are sufficient files to "fill a box" before sending files to some embassies. It may be because there are not as many beneficiaries in one country.

Many people have reported the packet never shows or takes some time, you might want to see if you can find the packet 3 listing by searching your particular embassy. I found ours (Montreal) pretty easily. You can get it done and send it in the moment the case is ready if I'm understanding others correctly.

I was reading that some receive the "electronic" file, but wait to contact the beneficiary until the actual "paper" file reach the embassy or consulate.

i wrote to VisaJourney Admin  about this problem, to fix those three :jest:

I also sent an email a couple months ago, but never received a response. I hope the fix the problem though.

That's awesome!! I will keep checking for sure.

Our petition is "in transit" as of last night to Vietnam. I guess the reason they "pulled it aside" for AP was minor. I finally found some posts regarding this and it may have been that something was missing from the file when sent from USCIS.

So, it arrived on the 2nd and left the NVC on the 7th...not bad, not bad at all!

Hello everyone, hope you are having a wonderful day. We just receive 1 week ago (7/28/17) our NOA2 confirmation that our case is moving to the NVC. We had settle the flying date to September 21st. I know is an optimistic idea but I was wondering if we have time to finish the process around that date seeing that the process is going at a good path. Probably many people asked the same but I have been looking around and everybody is different. So if someone can give me an idea I would be really happy to hear your opinions. Thank you for your time and good luck in your process.

It seems there is sime variation between consulates. It looks like yours is Armenia. I looked and the last couple interviews took over two months (last one three) beyond the NOA2 date there. Most are right around two months. Maybe you could contact those, who interviewed recently to find out more.

I don't think you need to worry yet since they say it can take 2-4 weeks. I just got my case today and my approval was 7/24, but that doesn't mean anything...they probably process them in some strange order the same way USCIS does. Give it another week or so before you get worried!!

I should be working, but was changing the case numbers on the system to just one day before (August 1 received) and there is one already sent to the consulate. That looked like good news to me and seems to be "in line" with others' recent experiences. I think you should check every afternoon for the next few days!

I am in need of the Golden Ticket as well day 143 for me. And you definitely had me cracking up this morning. I am sure everyone could appreciate your humor...it helps on this forum and with this process. This definitely helped me get through another day of waiting.

I really did not check this forum much until about a month ago. Honestly, I now wish that I would have been more involved...it is fun!
