I wish we could say the same for EAD. We got an RFIE because they wanted her English (from England) birth certificate translated into English. Slowed everything down I suppose.

We just got an envelope and it contained my husband’s EAD! We’re so amazed at how fast it was delivered. Less than 24hrs since it was sent. 🙌🏼 Even more amazed at how fast it was processed. Currently at day 66 since our application was received, according to the tracker.

Hoping for more good news for everyone here!

    P.S. Case received: 10/02/17
    Biometrics: 10/23/17
The issue date on his card is 12/01/17 😊

Hmm...does it say "MA" In your BC and passport? If yes, then I would think it should also say that on the MC. You can always have it ammended i think. Officers are very picky about those things especially if you are going to use the MC as proof for other applications like bank, ssa, dmv, etc (aside from the uscis applications). They will always ask for at least 2 sets of id.

This might become a problem in the future...

No i meant after your fiance  enters the US. He will not be able to work for at least 4 months. So prepare for that... He has to know what to expect and you as well...

It may be longer than 90 days if what you're applying for is a k1 visa. Me (I'm the beneficiary), I've been sitting on my butt for 4 months now waiting on my EAD so i can start working. Not expecting it until January next year.

So you have to consider that too... prepare him mentally (and financially).

Hey young man. I now see that you are definitely young. I think in a previous post you said you were in your early 20's, right? Going by what you just posted here I can tell you that you have a lot of learning to do with life and women so let me (and hopefully others on this forum) help you out a little.

You think waiting for the "right time" to tell her something as serious as you still being married is a good strategy. It is not. It is a cowardly and selfish way of avoid telling her the truth until you are comfortable doing so.

It took me a long time to learn something that I will share with you that may very well be the key to the success in your relationship. And that something is to always communicate and be upfront and honest with the woman you love. Even if it is painful and you know it will hurt her, always by upfront and honest. Because when you tell her the complete truth, she may get hurt, she may get confused, she may get angry, hell she may even leave you, but in the end ... she will still have respect for you.

I had an RFIE, but I responded quickly and it doesn't appear to have slowed my case down.

If it only asks for previous i129f petition, then you don't need to provide any info for your previous i130... answer is no.

I don't think that will be a problem. You will be out of status for a couple of days or weeks but you can still file your AOS after your I94 expires.

Both my parents were granted a US tourist visa. They are both retired. My mom is receiving pension but my dad relies on what we give him. When they both applied they were going to visit my sister who was a green card holder during that time. They were just asked about what the reason for their visit was, how long my sister has been in the usa, & what her job and income is.

    This was in 2015.

They were not asked about ties or properties owned in the philippines. They were not asked to provide any documents and such.

There is no sure fire way of getting a tourist visa. Just tell them to be prepared and be honest with all their answers. The decision will all depend on the CO interviewing them.

When the application gets approved, inform uscis that your fiance has a new address(or you can start informing them now). Once application gets mailed to nvc it will be out of the uscis jurisdiction. Nvc will submit approved application to the us embassy  in the Philippines.  Us embassy will be mailing her instructions so they need to have the correct address so she gets this packet.

audacieux89 reacted to Scandi in Name Change after Marriage K1
It's only the knowledge between SSAs that differ. Some SSA employees aren't smart enough to figure it out, while others know perfectly well that it's fine to have the name on the SSC changed based on the marriage certificate.

I got my SSN in my maiden name since we weren't married yet (I applied for my SSN 4 days after I arrived in the US), then after we got married and I received the marriage certificate I took it with me to the SSA and had the name changed on my SSC. Easy and fast, had the new card in the mailbox just 4 days later. Yes, this all happened in California and before I had even filed for my AOS.

It was out of the question for me to not take my husband's name and only 3 months after the marriage I had changed my name everywhere (also in my home country of course) and had my new passport in married name etc. It was well worth it and not as difficult as some want it to seem like.

What route are you going for? Are you going to adjust status while inside the US (you might need to stay in the US and not leave during this process and this takes at least 6 months). Note that you cannot work as well because you are on a b1/b2 visa which is only for tourism/medical purposes.

Or you can opt for the petition for alien relative. You will get the green card when your application is approved...this can take 12-14 months if I am not mistaken...With this, you can go back to your home country while petition is ongoing.

Don't worry...if they will have a problem with your finances, they will not deny or reject the application outright. THey might request for a joint sponsor...and give your fiance a 221g form to follow-up with the requested additional info.

audacieux89 got a reaction from TBoneTX in Why Are People Getting RFEs for Websites (IMBRA) with I-129F Submissions?
Always include the terms and conditions of the website where you met your fiance. An e-mail from the customer service of that site, stating that they are not a marriage brokering site will also help.

I've seen people get RFEs from popular dating sites like Tinder and OkCupid. Even if USCIS has seen a lot of cases where the couple met on those website, some of the adjudicators still look for the ToC stating that they are not IMB websites.

I believe it's all subjective...it all depends on who is reviewing the case. You should just front load your application as much as possible to avoid getting an RFE and subsequent headaches.

I don't know the specifics of the fight, his reasons to leave the country during literally the only period where he couldn't, and I won't pry/ask.
But I will say this. The CR1 takes 14-16 months now,  sometimes even more. You will be spending your first year + as newlyweds, away.
It's absolutely brutal and even though it is doable, it breaks a lot of people up. it will strain your relationship like you wouldn't imagine.
Definitely work on your issues as a couple before embarking on this next step. I would hate to see you have to go through it again.
Not saying that it is a given that he would do it again, I don't know you guys. Just be sure you're both ready this time. Talk it through.
And I wish you both the best.
