The package will, likely, be rejected for incorrect payment.  An I-797 receipt could take 2-4 weeks.

Text messages came the same day post office marked it delivered, then physical letters came the week after.

My case was transferred beginning of December from WAC to NBC. Never had biometrics and I just got my 10 year greencard approval letter in the mail.

So hopefully everyone who have had the same case move happen to them will be approved soon. 😊

Files early October and was never invited to do biometrics. Finally received a letter today to inform me that they will be reusing my previously captured fingerprints and other biometrics. Super bummed that it took them 9 months just to let me know about something that should’ve happened 7 months ago... that makes me think I will have to wait a good amount of time for them to actually look at my case now if they just now checked for biometrics 😭

This is FALSE. Also, try developing some compassion while you are waiting for your I-129F to be processed.

Every now and then, one case would be picked up for training purposes or luckily a case skip the line. That lucky person usually gets 3-4 months adjudicating time unlike the rest of us. Don't focus on that, that is abnormal. Majority of people will wait anywhere from 11-15 months to hear something.
Biometrics don't really change anything. They randomly send them out (YSC sent punch of Biometrics app for people two weeks ago from different months and different states). You might get one soon, or in 6-8 months when they pick your file. Don't stress over it, and just make sure you are getting all your mail.

Just stopped by to wish everyone good luck. I filed I751 back in October of 2016 and it was approved September 2017. The struggle is real lol so hang on there, everything will be fine. Take it easy and my thoughts to you is enjoy life as you are waiting, time will pass by.

Nah, MSC is a service center just like the others. Has nothing to do with getting an interview or not. If you are adjusting from a K1 or CR1 and had a greencard Interview before it seems like ROC interview is less likely. All service center have the same chances of getting an interview though so WAC doesn’t automatically mean you won’t have one.

And yeah, I would be careful about trying to use the pregnancy as the excuse unless she went through medical procedures related to it before she got pregnant?
9 months late + she is due in a few months= not pregnant when ROC was due.
Honestly I dont think USCIS cares what excuse it is. Ive never heard of them rejecting anyone but Im sure if you search hard enough you can find an example. Just dont make outrageous claims like I didnt file in June because I got pregnant in Oct. lol. Its totally fine to just say you forgot and list the things you have going on.

In fact calling them without having a pending case doesn’t help. They need a pending case in order to verify an address change.
I changed my address online and the reminder letter still went to my old address. I then filed my I-751 with my new address on it and listed the old address under previous addresses and my receipt notice finally came to my new address.

Did you do what @Bill & Katya told you to do? That is the first and most important step at this point and you can do that yourself. Call the immigration court to find out whether you are in removal proceeding because that can change everything that you need to do at this point.

My service center is California which means a long wait time from what I’ve seen (compared to some other centers) but I’m just glad I don’t have to worry about this thing for a at least a little while.

My statement about reading instructions was just a general one applying to everything immigration. Many people fail to do that and miss things.  I don't think lack of N/A will hurt you.

If it turns out that you have to file a waiver, go visit the immigrate2us website. It has a lot of good articles on how to assemble a good waiver and a list of good waiver lawyers. A lot less bashing and judging in that forum and you get good advices instead of people keeping on pointing out the mistake you made. Good luck on your journey!

Californiansunset got a reaction from DaveAndAnastasia in How to update my name during AOS process
Unfortunately EAD processing takes now 4-6months so don't count on having your EAD anytime soon (this is why you apply for I-131 and I-765 even if you originally don't think you will need it... don't get why people wouldn't apply for it if it's free anyways and gives you some sort of ID and the ability to apply for DL and SSN).

If I remember correctly, the AOS papers specifically ask for your current name and then the maiden name... so you put the same name in both even though you had your name changed??? And then you didn't say anything about it at your biometrics? I am actually surprised you didn't get an RFE for that (yet), as the marriage certificate doesn't match your current name you applied with, plus the form where it asks for the names is filled out incorrectly.
I'd do what the USCIS representatives said and fix it now. Especially bc you want to apply for your EAD with your married name. Chances are they will catch the discrepancies of your name when they process your EAD. Write in the cover letter of your EAD application that you are in the process of having your Greencard name changed and obviously attach copies of the marriage certificate that shows the name change and your passport that shows your maiden name. It might work or it might need to match your currently processing file. You'll find out. Good luck!

So you haven’t received a denial letter either? As odd as it sounds but I would call uscis again to verify the information you got from the first person you spoke with on the line.

If there was an interview scheduled that you didn’t attend, you would be automatically denied. I’ve never heard of someone being denied for a no-show getting the solution from uscis that they will simply reschedule the interview. It’s usually impossible bc you were denied. They usually tell you to file an appeal and a motion to reconsider.... this just sounds so strange!

Yup that’s why I am telling you to call again. Ask to be transferred to a tier 2 and ask what exactly happened with your case. The Info you got from the first person could be wrong. If you had your interview two months ago and you didn’t attend it, you’d be out of status right now. Your interview couldn’t be simply get rescheduled
