HandmadeTurnip reacted to Unlockable in Quick question on the VWP and warnings
You don't think they were "pushing the boundaries" because you are looking at it from a biased point of view because they are family.
Let's do some math...
50+40+21+45 = 156 days
There have been 260 days so far since December 1st, 2016.
Your in-laws ARE spending more time in the US than at home. Would advise to heed the warning of the officer. And yes they do make notes (or "flags" as you say) in the visitor's profile

HandmadeTurnip reacted to Suss&Camm in Brazilian Girlfriend needs letter of invitation for tourist visa
There are differences between embassies, no one is saying there is not, but there are not differences in what can be/is viewed as credible evidence.
Here are a couple of things you in fact said:
Neither of those posts have any context of you "stating your experience". You are giving advise, plain and simple. Which is fine if you at the same time let ppl know that it is in fact only your experience. Instead you questioned the legitimacy of the information that was given earlier in the thread about the invitation requirement, and dismissed the fact based information given by several VJ members, as well as gave specific advise on how to write a letter that isn't even required to begin with
I didn't say that it's exclusively for that, but when advise is in fact given, it needs to be correct. People spend a lot of time and money on these processes. You don't have to have be a lawyer or a paralegal to educate yourself on immigration laws and requirements.

HandmadeTurnip reacted to millefleur in I-864 Address
If the parent's house is literally next door and she gets her mail there anyway, why not just continue to use that address? I don't see any need to use the other house number. If you're worried about confusion, just use the one address for all things.

HandmadeTurnip reacted to millefleur in I-864 Address
I used my mother's address as my own and she was also my joint sponsor. No issues at all. It shouldn't be an issue.

HandmadeTurnip reacted to Dashinka in I-864 Address
I agree, I don't see this being an issue. You should show the different mailing and physical addresses on the form.
Good Luck!

HandmadeTurnip got a reaction from Unlockable in Am I missing something?
The doctor who conducts your medical asks you a fixed set of questions from a questionnaire to get an idea of your medical history, one of those questions is "have you ever used drugs?". In other words, the only way to not mention it is to lie in response to a direct question, something no one on here is ever going to advise you to do.

That thread is for the embassy portion of the process, i.e. after USCIS has approved your petition. You still need to include all of the supporting documents mentioned in the main K-1 guide. The USCIS part of the process is the same regardless of which country the beneficiary is from, the only difference is that sometimes people choose to "front-load" their petitions with relationship evidence depending on the difficulty of their embassy. This isn't necessary for London but you can still do it if you want to be extra cautious. Everything else mentioned in the guide is mandatory however so you still have to provide letters of intent to marry and proof that you've met in person within the last two years.
You'll need a letter from your GP detailing your history with depression, yes. I received treatment for some mild anxiety several years ago and was told by the doctor at the medical that I would need to send them a letter from my GP before they could send my results to the embassy.

No, it's not too soon. Just make sure you get some sort of proof that you've had them so that you can show the nurse when you go to the medical.

HandmadeTurnip reacted to mallafri76 in Doing contract work on VWP/B1?
Love it when people come on this board to ask a question, then when they don't like the answers, they get all rude about it... Georgia is right, you are NOT allowed to work on the VWP. But hey, when CBP ask for your reason for entering the US, why don't you tell them you're coming to work as a contractor and see what happens...
