Check was cashed

The check that I have sent to USCIS with my K-1 package was cashed. Is that a good sign? Does it mean I passed the first filter?

It is, after a few days they will be sending you a letter as a receipt notice. If you send the G-1145, then you will be notified about it in a few days. Good luck

Of course you can, they haven't started looking into your case yet. When they do, you'll either receive a NOA2, an RFE or an intent to deny.

The cashed check only means they accepted your case (no fundamental parts of the package were missing and the check was written out correctly), it only means it wasn't flat out rejected. They won't look closer into your case or make a decision until several weeks from now. Maybe months.

It is still possible to receive an RFE, the cash being checked doesn't mean you are automatically good to go and nothing is lacking on the papers. Cashing the check only means they have accepted your case and will look into it now. Getting an RFE will only happen if they see something wrong with the papers or need more evidence to proceed with the case. Just be patient and hope that everything goes smoothly.
