afortunada got a reaction from Paulina Ventura in US VISA APPROVED, how long for DHL to get it?
CDj usually processes very fast. My husband's visa was in our hands 48 hours after the interview - and we had a DHL location all the way in Puerto Vallarta.

We received our mailed notice yesterday from Potomac Service Center. Wahoo! That's crazy, considering we filed my husband's ROC three months ago and only received a notice nearly two months later after we called and complained 😜

I got excited to see so many other March filers, we are not alone in this 😊
I am happy for you, because like @JMPM said, it is the fastest at the moment. I find it very interesting things have changed so fast! Let us know what sort of changes you notice as we go along  Good luck to you too!

omg are you me?  I'm exactly the same--checking VJ all the time, adding to my notes constantly...

In other news, you were totally right--it's been a day since they charged my card, and I just got the text! Yay! Texas Service Center, if this place is right. Now to settle in for the long wait.

I love that app! The only other bit I found slightly helpful is to search as far back to find large groups that still say "Case Has Been Received" so that I have an idea of realistically how long things are being processed. For example, even though it says Potomac (where we are) is "super fast," I see large chunks of cases from five + months ago that still haven't been touched. So I think it's honestly more like six months? Who knows though.

Thank you so much! It sounds like we have the same set-up for our package, so fingers crossed I receive a text today or Monday!

Logically I know it's a whole lot of waiting either way, but I'm dying to know which service center we'll be processed at... I'm a naturally anxious person and this process is my worst nightmare lol (I've got spreadsheets and spreadsheets of checklists, timelines, etc... They both help and worsen my anxiety hahaha). I know it sucks for all of us, but at the same time it's so comforting to know that I'm not alone and we're along for the same ride!

Thank you both for your kind words. ❤️ I'll do my best to breathe and be patient!

You should still get e-notification! I also put my cover letter first, but I did indicate on the cover letter that the G-1145 form was attached. I then had my check payment as tab 2, and tab 3 contained G-1145 + I-130. So there is still hope! I didn't receive a text until a day or more after the withdrawal hit my bank account.

EDIT: Additionally, you can call in about one month after your petition was delivered to get your case number. Trust me, it feels "exciting" to have it, but it makes NO difference! Your petition is still just sitting... and sitting... and sitting... Along with the rest of ours So don't fret, dear!

UPDATE: Well, apparently everything I used to know no longer applies, because I just received a case number which begins with YSC and is the Potomac Service Center. Interesting! I have no idea what their processing times are, so I'm excited to go check it out! Good luck, everyone!

Well, more accurately, depends on where your "home base" is; eg. I'm in Minnesota, so I am always routed to Nebraska for these types of petitions. It's true that some centers only process certain types of petitions so that doesn't apply to all cases. I used to remember all those little details when I was constantly scouring these forums during my husband's petition process, but now my memory is fuzzy about some things!

The ROC process is almost two years right now. However, since my hubby is already here, I'm much less worried about the wait time He also becomes eligible to apply for citizenship 90 days before his three-year stint as a permanent resident, so we will probably file that even though ROC is still pending. Many people choose to do that to shorten wait times.

I thought I knew Spanish really well, until I actually moved to Mexico with hubby several years ago. Turns out I knew very little 😂 I have learned a lot though and absolutely love the experience!

Yes, it completely depends on where you are filing from, unfortunately. I already know that I will be sent to Nebraska because that's where my husband's I-130 was processed from and where his ROC is being processed, too! I can't wait until they're both citizens and we're finished with all of this!

Hi, all! I just filed I-130 for my stepson in Mexico. I went through this process with my husband a few years ago, and he is currently in ROC stage. Interview wait times are HORRID for Juarez right now, so I am really hoping they speed up when it comes to be our turn in about a year's time.

I think leaving the file in the box for the next 8 months will also count as "working on it".

Well, this is the second time it's happened to you, so I'm going to go ahead and say you should do everything necessary to get that woman back to her home country and then stop making hasty decisions and maybe avoid relationships until you can work on whatever personal struggles you are dealing with. This isn't a game.

What triggers illegal status is you not filing an I-864 to fulfill the requirements for adjusting status after her I-94 expires.

What makes you think that she would be a "documented resident" by marrying you?  Can you show where that's codified?

Don't worry, nobody has any pity for you.  You are a horrible person.

Yes, I remember the thread very well. I was not disagreeing with you, only pointing out that yes, it is becoming abusive in a way. And maybe you took "buy her a ticket home" too literally; it was just a quick way to say to get her the heck out of here, as everyone suggested a millions times before, in this post and the previous. You also literally upvoted the same comment when aaron2020 said it. No need to be rude, I'm not the OP

Financial abuse is very real. What are her choices if he is withholding money to buy her a plane ticket home, or if he is refusing to help support her financially knowing full well she will be an undocumented immigrant with no way to help herself?

In this day and age, can't anyone figure out where this guy is from/who he is so we can contact his "fiancee" and help her get away from this terrible person? This is getting to be absolutely ridiculous.

I can't tell if you're a troll or if this is real. But, to answer your question, neither option is valid. Buy her a ticket home and stop this nonsense.

Tough situation that you face,  I feel for you OP and sincerely hope that it works out for both of you in time.  He's only at the early stages of interviewing for a job in the UK--no job offer yet so no decision needs to be made as he may not get the job.  Have you discussed relocating to a larger city/metro area in the US that would offer more opportunities for work for both of you?  If you are both looking for university/college faculty jobs, more and more search committees and department chairs and deans (my current role) are okay with and even encourage married couples to apply for two positions at the same university.  Or if one of you can find a job in a big city with lots of universities like Boston, New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, or San Francisco, you can move there together and then the other will be more likely to find something, at least adjunct (part-time) teaching, or even a post-doc position.  It depends on how much you want to stay together vs the green card issue.  I totally understand the challenge of finding a job in a niche area--if it is a university faculty position he's looking for, it is truly a world-wide market and positions can be competitive and hard to find.  If your field is one in which jobs are more plentiful than in his area, maybe it makes sense to go where he can find a job, then you look for something in that city or region.  I recently hired a new faculty member who had been working in New York and her husband is here in the San Francisco area.  They had been living apart for more than a year and then she finally found a job here so they will be together in August when she moves here.  You knew about his niche area before you got married, so the challenges of him finding a suitable position should be something you understand and can empathize with.  Thankfully you have been together for most of your relationship so far, unlike many of us who have had months or years of separation while waiting for the long immigration process for our spouses to end.  This is a tricky situation, as it is for many dual-career couples, and I wish you all the best!
