My wifes visa was just approved yesterday(May 3) here in CDJ Mex.  They all say"it takes two weeks" for your visa and documents to be mailed to the courier of your choosing.  We chose a DHL literally 10 minutes away so super close.  Does anyone know realistically the wait times?  And Can I pick it up before i even get my tracking number through email?  We have a 3 month old with us and we really need to be able to cross back and go home.  Thanks... anything helps, Idk how everything works here... like if I tip the DHL guy will he do a better job of "finding" her package??

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Around two weeks, like it says — I dunno what else you were expecting.

Some carriers such as USPS allow for pickup the moment it arrives just as a regular service, so who knows they might just give it to you anyways as long as you can prove who you are and that your ID matches the destination address.

Depends when they print the visa. Check USCIS to see if it has been 'issued' and whether its being processed or has been printed. It will say. The London Embassy sent my passport and package back to me 4 days later but everywhere is different.

In any case, you've waited this long, why panic over when your passport will arrive? You'll get it when you get it, just thank God they approved you one to be begin with :)

Everyone here is incorrect. Don't sweat it. Just picked up my wife's visa in Piedras Negras, 7 calendar days from our interview, and Monday was a holiday in mx. We got the waybill number yesterday and picked the visa up today. The usual for CDJ is 3-4 business days from the time CEAC switches to issued. The embassy is closed tomorrow because it is a Mexican holiday. Some DHL locations require the waybill number, some will just ask for your wife's IFE or official ID. I can't speak for the DHL you are going to, but the one in Piedras wanted the waybill.

Thanks so much for all your input.  It means a great deal to my wife and I at this moment bc we are anxious to return home to our other children.

We are very glad for the approval but as you all know life has to keep going so we are anxious to get back!

Sorry I meant to say check CEAC (not USCIS) at this address to check on the status of your approved visa.

Incorrect about what? Your experience is your experience, it's just a general question and answer. That doesn't make you right and everybody else wrong.

I came here for specifics(possibilities) beyond the normal generals that you get from the consulate. So in that respect Kcrb did a great deal to encourage me in my specific situation, though I do understand you taking issue with his choice of words.

You also are very helpful, on that note... The CEAC page changed to issued yesterday, and today was updated to "printed and will be mailed to the DHL location you selected."

In your experience, at this juncture, are we pretty darn close to having that Visa in our hands so my wife and I can get home!?

Thanks MattyUK!

It was a Mexico specific question, so I was saying everyone who said it would be two weeks was incorrect. Your CEAC information was correct, but non-specific generalizations that do not apply to DHL and/or Mexico can be very confusing and muddle the truth. And, it's  not just my experience, but the truth of the embassy in ciudad Juárez. They operate faster than most embassies and Mexico has different requirements for different things. I should've used different words to describe, but I have seen people get some horrible advice on the this forum and I didn't want OP to become discouraged based on misinformation.
