That disc only has your x-rays on it. Yes you bring it but they will likely not even look at it. After that you can do what you want with it.

We had sent ours by email. It worked like a charm. If I remember correctly, I sent two emails total because of the size of them. Personally, that is the way I recommend.

frjgayek might have a point.  But for a regular interview you just do not need an atty.  Unless your case is so complicated that you think they will ask about your involvement in the communist party.

Send flowers to your atty. and show up for the interview.  You DO NOT NEED your atty. for the interview.  It might even be a hindrance.  You show up and answer truthfully the questions posed along with the typical questions you already study for the civil test, which by the way are very easy.

DON'T USE A NUMBER THAT IS NOT YOUR SSN!!! It should not be an issue to have your spouse on your health insurance. Not having a SSN should not be a ground for denial.

It all depends on how you will present yourself to the Chinese immigration at the airport.  If you think and are very sure that you will travel as a U.S. citizen then submit U.S. passport for visa application.  If you list both U.S. and Canada then the consular officer at Chinese embassy will ask you the same question: which one do you want to travel under?

Probably best to follow this in the Canada forum.  Thankfully, Montreal is fast once you escape the NVC.  Our interview was a month and a half after CC at NVC.  You can see the details on the timeline below.  Other couples I've seen on here from Canada have experienced similar timelines.

In general CR1/IR1 at Montreal is quite easy as long as you have your documents in order and have proof of domicile for the petitioner.

NewBrunswicker got a reaction from Lemonslice in During the Interview, (Proof of Income) When and how is it reviewed?
As far as I know, the officer reviews the documentation. It is not hard to determine if you qualify are not. They look at the numbers. Your tax transcript says exactly how much you brought home last year. There is no need for a finance person.

Career Fairs are good because the employers are basically coming to you! Puts you in the driver's seat.

Suggest you first research which employers will be there and get a nice short speech together about why you want to work for them and what you can offer them; dress really formally and professionally; get a manicure (lots of hand shaking!), smile all the time even when you are sitting and waiting (they look at the crowd, not just when you come up to their table); carry a nice briefcase or clipboard to hold all the papers and brochures you will be handed; bring multiple copies of your shortened resume and proof of legal ability to work in the US (SS card or other paperwork); bring a business card if you have one; bring a decent pen and paper to make notes of interviewers names, things to remember about each company and other attendees you meet--you be networking with them in the future (memories will all run together if you meet enough people). Good luck!

NewBrunswicker reacted to Dutchster in Can I apply for K-1 visa when I will be getting married overseas?
Traditional marriages. You are too married for the Fiance Visa and not married enough for the Spousal Visa. You'll have to make a decision; either you will bring her to the United States as your fiance to marry her within 90 days on the K1 visa to suffice the purpose and afterwards adjust her status or you fly out to her, you will get officially married and you will return to the US to prepare the CR-1 package. She'll enter the US with the spousal visa as your wife and upon arrival receive a 2yr greencard.

Yeah you are misinterpreting the instructions.

Theres a difference between saying "if you checked box 1f provide the info about the person" and the phrasing Physical Address (If you checked 1f) Its all about the parenthesis placement.

You are suppose to fill out ALL fields in the form unless its N/A. So you do question 1- You check off one box- which you did correctly. Then you move on to #2. It states IF you checked off 1f use the persons info- not yours for the following question 2... It says nothing about this is only for people for checked off 1f. So everyone fills it out- you would enter YOUR info as the person requesting it UNLESS you checked off 1f- because IF you did then you use their info.Does that make more sense?

NewBrunswicker reacted to yuna628 in Getting married with the ESTA visa waiver program
OP: My suggestion to you is to stop reading too far into the motivations of other people's situations or how they managed to navigate 'around the law'. No one here can participate in telling you how to commit immigration fraud, it's against the law, and against the rules. Does it happen? Sure does. But I'd advise for you to not focus on the desperation of emotions of wanting to be with the person you love, over wanting to take a proper course of action that is legal. If you want to be together, there are legal pathways. And if you are caught doing otherwise, your chances go down pretty low. Since you currently reside in Spain, the legal options before you are filing for a K1, or filing for a CR1.

For a K1, once approved, you will enter as a fiancé, having 90 days to marry in the US, and may decide to remain there. If you choose to remain there by the 90 day period you should file for adjustment of status - this will lead to your green card status (and you may also apply for a temporary work/travel permit while that is processing.. these documents can take a further 90 days.. and the green card can take up to a year in some cases). As you can see, while obtaining a K1 works for some and you can adjust your status while staying with your newly married spouse - you will not be authorized to work or even leave the US until your documents come through. Financial sponsorship is a two-fold process for a K1, your fiancé or a cosponsor (if your embassy allows for it) will have to prove to the embassy directly regarding their ability to sponsor you. Once you marry, and adjustment of status is filed for, more complex financial sponsorship documents must be filled out. These are very much legally binding contracts with the US government, so any cosponsor utilized must be made aware of that fact.

For a CR1, it requires that you already be married; in Spain if you'd like for instance. It will take much longer than a K1 takes to process, but by the end of it, once you enter the US, you will have your green card and be able to work and travel as you like.

Whichever visa you choose certainly will depend on your situation and what all parties feel work best for them. Both require a good deal of funds to pay for. No one can truly tell you how long either option will take. We're heading into a new political administration with potential changes. At best the K1 is usually statistically quicker - but even at it's quickest moments, waiting for the person you love is hard. Explore the guides around here and choose which route is best if you are serious about wanting to proceed.
