Does Montreal consulate still have the option of both mail and electronic processing (sending documents via email) for IR-1/CR-1 visa? If yes, then does anyone have any recommendations on which option to pursue. I have read Saylin's guide for Montreal Beneficiaries (last updated September 12, 2015) and it seems electronic processing was optional at that time. Thanks!!

Apologies if this question has already been asked. I am unable to find on the forum.

I think most couples do electronic processing, but we couldn't seem to condense our emails down enough, so we ended up just mailing them in. I think doing it that way cost us about two weeks, if that matters to you. But yes, they offer both electronic and mail.

Met: December 2009

Married: April 2015

Received CR-1 visa: February 2017

POE (as IR-1): April 2017

Oath ceremony: November 2020

Both are accepted.

By sending your package via email, it saves quite a bit of time and also saves courier fees, also save you from asking yourself whether the package was received, or lost etc....

We sent out package last week via email and was approved in just under 1 week, also got an interview date!

Regardless of which method you decide to send your package, wish you all the best and good luck!

We had sent ours by email. It worked like a charm. If I remember correctly, I sent two emails total because of the size of them. Personally, that is the way I recommend.

Agreed! I also sent 2 emails. Email 1 of 2 and Email 2 of 2. First email was AOS package, and second was for the IV package. Once sent, you can call NVC to inquire after 2-3 days to confirm whether it was received.

Thank you so much everyone! Really appreciated. As sending an opt-in email is also no longer required, the process seems simple. We will go ahead with electronic processing. Thanks again. :)

Sure thing. :) You may also find useful info on this one too. Although, I think you will be required to do the CEAC upload, may find useful info on this one in terms of what is needed, etc.. .

Took me a while to figure out how to navigate these forums..
