Scandi got a reaction from Lemonslice in Paper work AFTER Marriage
Go get your SSN though, it doesn't cost anything and everyone needs one. Many people have issues getting their SSN after marriage, so I suggest that you get it soon after she arrives when there's a lot of time left on the i-94. Like I said, it's simple and for free, no reason not to go get it. The AOS can wait if you don't want to file after marriage.

Scandi reacted to jnguyen07 in I-131 Rejected....USCIS Reason Seems Inaccurate...Please Help
Ya know what's funny? They actually listed lack of payment or incorrect payment as a reason as well, when in fact when you file concurrently with I-485 the fee is waived! I just chose not to bore you all with the complaints, lol. The solution there is to resubmit with the I-485 confirmation, btw.

No. ..no...and no....
The whole point of filling out that portion is that it's the info of another person than the filer that is entered in part 1 (the person for whom the OP would be filing would be overseas..)
OP, you have done it correctly, the same way I did mine and according to instructions. You are not crazy!
Like Scandi said, they refused her i-765 just last week due to a mistake... I'm just sorry they let the "intern" look through your applications unsupervised
Fill it up like it's supposed to be and write a note explaining. Sucks that it's taking time from you and hopefully your wife can get it in time for travel...

Scandi got a reaction from AmandaBN in Nervous about how we met.. Though common.
Sure but USCIS doesn't do research on these things, it's up to you to send proof that it isn't an IMBRA website, they will not go there to check.

Scandi reacted to KayDeeCee in EDA Fees
Yes it is. Page 9. >
NOTE: If you filed Form I-485, Application to Register
Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, as of July 30, 2007,
and you paid the Form I-485 filing fee, no fee is required to
also file a request for employment authorization on Form
I-765. You may file the Form I-765 with your Form I-485, or
you may submit the Form I-765 at a later date. If you file
Form I-765 separately, you must also submit a copy of your
Form I-797C, Notice of Action, receipt as evidence of the
filing of Form I-485 as of July 30, 2007.

Scandi got a reaction from Californiansunset in EAD rejected
You should always use the form that is on USCIS webpage at time of filing, so whenever you decide to file you should use the form that is on USCIS webpage at the time. So yes, the form you've already filled in might be outdated by then, dowmload and fil, in a new one when the time comes.
EAD and AP shou,d apparently still be free when filing for AOS.
BUT there are no guarantees in any of this, like you can read from this thread. I filed for EAD at the same time as AOS and used the absolute newest vesion at the time and still had it rejected because of "wrong fee" and "outdated form".

Scandi reacted to KayDeeCee in EAD rejected
I have seen people in the past get their EAD and/or AP rejected for not paying the fee they did not need to pay, even before fee changes happened. Humans make mistakes and I suppose the workers at the intake facilities are more confused right now because of the fee changes. Someone just messed up in your case. You sent it correctly. They rejected it mistakenly.

Scandi got a reaction from ZoeUK1989 in Dumb question
Use the lockbox address or don't use any at all, doesn't matter.

Scandi reacted to Suss&Camm in Scandinavians Part 2
I don't think the lack of conformation is a problem at all. That it's registered is what matters.
Personbevisen borde visa allt

Scandi reacted to allyrose in Everyone has different answer about when and how to get a SSN
Hi everyone, thanks for all your help. We went today, 5 days after my fiance's arrival, and there was no trouble at all. We had to wait an hour but that's it. They said it will be with us in 7-10 days

Scandi got a reaction from NikLR in 3 months to get married OR 3 months to AOS???
Married within 90 days, not 3 months. So keep an extra eye on the dates if you plan on getting married on the last day before the i-94 expires.

Scandi got a reaction from junaidjackie2016 in Applying for SS Before Quick Marriage?
No forget about the save database, you won't find anything there anyway. Just look for the i-94 and print it.

Scandi got a reaction from Chardon Ne' in DILEMMA
Doesn't matter if you have been married for 3 or 20 years, you can't skip the ROC and go directly to citizenship. You need to file for ROC first.
Besides, it's not about how long you'rve been married anyway. You have to be married to a US citizen AND be an LPR (ie having a greencard) for three years. I assume you've only had a greencard for two years?

Scandi got a reaction from NikLR in What is the best way for us?
I just applied for an ESTA, packed my bags and my passport and headed over to the US without any issues all the times I visited my then boyfriend/fiancé. I didn't have a job or much else that showed ties to Sweden and was never asked for any such proof either. You're lucky to be from Sweden, CBP usually never even raise an eyebrow or ask you anything when you go to the US as a visitor, swedes are just not very fraudulent I guess. :-P
And yes I was honest with CBP everytime, told them I was there to visit my boyfriend/fiancé.
I'd definitely recommend you two to spend quite a bit of time together irl before committing to marriage. And document it all! If you still decide to go for a visa later on it's good to have lots of proof of bonafide relationship.

Yes I think LAX is an easy POE tbh, it's been great everytime.
Thanks! Had to get it going before December 23, 'cause I'm that cheap.

They go by the date it was post marked by the post office, so if it was dropped off on December 22 at the latest s/he should be fine.

Scandi got a reaction from p-ana in paying for your k1
Don't forget the cost for the medical as well, that one is usually quite pricey. She needs to have one no matter what visa you decide to apply for.

Scandi got a reaction from Mmagic in G-325A Question
Both my middle names wouldn't fit on any of the forms so I typed all the rest, printed the form and filled in my names with a regular ink pen and signed. Did that on both g-325A and i-129f, it was never a problem.

I interpreted it as him wanting to be with her and was not solely out for the Green Card. Doesn't sound like she will be travelling anywhere anytime soon with only one kidney...

Scandi got a reaction from Chardon Ne' in K1 Visa, I-129F RFE
It most likely won't save you any time if you send an incomplete petition. RFEs tend to slow things down quite a bit. And what if you decide not to go through with the K-1 once you've actually met? That'll be lost money. Besides, USCIS will want to know the dates you met IRL, it won't look good if the petition was signed and filed before you have even met. They'll probably deny it and the money is gone anyway.
