dpd reacted to mc33433 in Question regarding hair color....
Maybe a funny question!
It's been years since I posted here, but it feels good to be back while I am helping dear friends of mine finalize their paperwork for their fiancee visa. One of the questions in the biographical information section asks what your hair color is...
He selected "brown hair" - however, in the 5+ years I have known this person, he is completely bald. I think he shaves his head to ensure he's fully bald, but I have NEVER seen any hair on his head, nor any photos of hair on his head... One of the options is "Bald" - wouldn't that be more appropriate? Before I potentially insult him (😀), I wanted to get thoughts from the experts on here... Thank you in advance. I don't want any sort of question about a simple detail like that to cause them any issues.

dpd got a reaction from KayyWafflee in AGE GAP!
We have 15 years age gap. Never had an issue. Never asked even once during my entire immigration journey. I’m now a citizen since Dec 2020. Don’t get stressed about it. As long as your relationship is genuine and you can provide proof, you’re good 😊

I only surrendered my current 10 year green card. I brought the rest but they never need them.

dpd reacted to Gabrobill in Apparently Trump will partly(?) lift the 14 day travel bans
Making it worse? Seriously? This nightmare is only happening because Trump didn't give a (removed) about COVID-19 or immigrants from the beginning. Biden now has a HUGE work to be done, and his priority definently has to be saving american lives.

I feel so bad for your fiancé. If you think of pulling the plug, better do it sooner. Don’t wait until more damage has been done. She did nothing to deserve this.

It really depends on the specifics your relationship with your fiance. In my case, we waited several years and made a lot of sacrifices for a variety of reasons. My fiance had her embassy interview just a couple days before the shutdown, and after a few months of more delays, we finally got married. I'm very happy with our new life together.
It seems like the Philippines did a poor job of lining up a vaccine supply, but they are already talking about vaccine passports. If I was still in your situation, I would take that as enough encouragement to focus on deepening the LDR and keeping busy, as I am sure you have been doing already.

I agree
Pull the plug now and quit stringing this person around
If you love someone, you don't treat them unfairly
i worked and waited 6 years for our visa application approved and i feel badly you would just pull the plug on someone who professed love to you

It will take some time for the embassies/consulates to return to normal operations, given the varying recovery periods in their respective countries. This includes gauging coronavirus safety in general, achieving normal staffing levels, and catching up on burgeoning backlogs.
If your levels of love or interest won't endure, you may look back on this, years from now, and conclude, "Everything happens for a reason."

dpd reacted to Mr. Bama in Trump administration oversees five-year high in approved citizenship applications
Sorry to be bad news, but the Russia investigation was not a scam. if you read all 448 pages as i did you will know. Forget what the news said but read. Plus trump own high ranking people he trusted are sitting in Federal prison, plus over 20 Russian were indicted and many more. If you called that a scam then you need to remove your partisan glasses. Facts are facts. Plus all the USA intelligent agencies under the Trump administration said Russia meddled and interred in our elections. trump is the only one in denial.

Spell it out for them in simple terms.
Write a timeline like this:
On May 7, 2005 petitioner David Smith married Mary Jones.
On July 21, 2013 the marriage between petitioner David Smith and Mary Jones was lawfully terminated. See enclosed divorce decree.
On September 7, 2017 petitioner David Smith married beneficiary Jane Doe. This is the beneficiary’s first and only marriage. See enclosed marriage certificate.

dpd got a reaction from JahRyl in Traveling outside US with passport on Maiden name and Greencard under married name
You’ll be fine. My passport is still under my maiden name and my green card in my married name. I haven’t renewed it yet since I got married since it is still valid up to 2020. Like cyberfx1024 mentioned above, make sure your ticket matches the details in your passport and keep your marriage certificate handy. I have been back and forth to the Philippines multiple times already with no problem. But when I traveled to Europe, I have been asked at the airports in Germany and Greece to show my marriage certificate and everything went well.

We all have issues. I've been living in the US for 28 years to a wife who has a lot of health problems-she was born in the US. Why am I still married to her? Because we are best friends and are in love. I take sickness and health seriously.
