This is not very constructive and does not answer the OP's question.

Doctors and lawyers may have confidential client information.  Corporate employees may have confidential emails.  Or it could just be a matter of privacy, like discussing medical conditions with close family.

@BananaShoes, from what I've read, yes, you can refuse to give CBP access to your phone/laptop. But you can be detained for a while and CBP will give you a hard time.  You can request a lawyer, but, unlike US police and courts, CBP is not obligated to provide you one.  And if you are not a USC or LPR, you can be refused entry.

caphoto reacted to Elllena in USCIS messed up my life and they don't admit their mistake. What is my option?
So you and your wife were married for 6 years, yet you got a conditional GC? You get a conditional green card if the marriage is under 2 years, so you and your wife were married less than 2 years when you got your first green card. It's now 4 years later and you still don't have a permanent GC? Did you file the I-751 years after your  conditional GC was already expired? Am I missing something here because your timeline makes no sense to me.

Just in case you aren't aware, there's a specific military help line for USCIS. They will probably be more familiar with options and hopefully more sympathetic to your situation:

An SSN is not required to have health insurance, but it will make life obtaining it a lot easier.

The best process is to get the SSN asap, get married asap, and add her to insurance asap. Then I would get her evaluated by a very good doctor that specializes in this.

Temporary insurances will not cover pre-existing conditions, they are subpar and are not ACA compliant. You can purchase private health insurance plans that are ACA compliant, but there should be no reason why she cannot be added as a spouse asap to your Tricare.

I am not aware of any xray that involves the uterus for a visa medical exam. It is usually a chest xray. There are many reasons why a woman would have a large tumor in their uterus that are non-cancerous, but if she has a family history she certainly needs a proper screening.

This is almost like what happened to my son’s case:

    1. He received a NOA coming from Lee Summit, Missouri saying he will be scheduled for an interview.
    2. After a few days he received another NOA saying his case is transferred from CSC to Nebraska.

THEN a few days later, the status said “New Card is Being Produced”

Im not sure what is going on but I hope everybody receives some good news soon.

    Hang in there!

There is a forum specifically for naturalization questions. You probably won’t get responses to your questions in this thread.

Call the legal office on your base and ask if they have an immigration lawyer. Mine does and she has been super helpful.

It's been 152 days since any action has been taken on my case and 16 months since I submitted application so I decided to go ahead and submit my N400. Fed up waiting! I'm a military spouse stationed overseas, so I think that's why they haven't done anything (the on base immigration lawyer told me that they don't adjudicate I-751 cases overseas).

My case was transferred to Nebraska and review of fingerprints done in March - still no update. Anyone else waiting this long? I filed the whole thing in April 2018 and have had no RFE’s. Seems like people that filed later are already getting approved. 😞

Military bases are US territory. Technically you were living in US as long your husband was stationed there. Even if you lived off post, his based of employment was on the base as well as your residence - that means in US

You know that kid at school who just had to write a 15 page paper when the teacher asked for a 4 page one?  Those kids become adults and turn in 5 inch thick ROC packets.

A good concise ROC packet is worth its weight in gold.  The rest is all fluff.

IF interview comes along for the I-129F , make sure you say this to the CO when they ask if you and her are married, " I wanted to marry my effing wife while visiting her. Thats it. Period. You got it?" their going to love that response.

Why on earth did you even ask a question when you won't listen to the answers you get? Some embassies even ask for proof of not being married at the K1 interview. This IS a big deal. Low chances of being caught does not make fraudulent and disrespectful behavior ok.

Social media, or a field study where they ask neighbors. If they EVER find out you married before entering your wife becomes deportable for visa fraud.

K1 visas are for fiancés to marry in the US. If you are intending to marry and then get married, then you are no longer fiancés but spouses. You would have to withdraw or cancel the K1 and start over with a spousal visa.

caphoto reacted to JFH in Question for the Europeans: why choose the US over Europe?
For some of us, the restrictions on bringing our spouses into our home countries are such that it is not possible.
We initially filed a spouse visa for my husband to live here in the UK but it was denied with no possibility of appeal because he spent 2 years in prison in the USA over 20 years ago. Also, the UK has a minimum income requirement for people to bring spouses in but no co-sponsors are permitted. Many people here work on zero hours contracts or on sales commissions and these don't count for the income requirement. In fact, the income requirement is higher than the average adult earns here (a lot higher than the 125% of the poverty level that the USA requires and the USA also permits co-sponsors).
It's actually easier for me to get into the US than it is for my husband to get into the UK.
So for us it's plan B. I don't think my life will be "better" there. Different, but not better. Not necessarily worse, either. I am certain we will be poorer than we would have been here. But we will be together, finally, after 4 years of paperwork and waiting. We are keen bird watchers and nature lovers so that for me is the biggest excitement apart from being with my husband at last.
Certainly even in the western world there are people who want the American Dream. Many of them know very little about life there. When I told people at work that my husband had been denied a visa for the UK and we were now going to start the process for me to move to the USA, many were shocked that we didn't do it this way in the first place. To them "America" is Disney World, warm weather, cheap food, cheap gasoline and 24-hour Wal-marts. They have no clue about the politics, cost of health care, access to public services (or lack thereof), and so on, like we do.
