I think your timeline is actually mostly normal. We never filed for N400, but were approved without interview after 23 months. Congrats, its a great feeling .

I am wondering if MSC is starting to issue the GC without interview? I got approved on March 14 even though it stated my case was ready for interview. I did call them over a month before asking for the status. Maybe calling them flagged the case and they decided to approve it.

It is hard to believe that would have caused the approval being over a month since I called, but who knows. All I know is it as approved just one month before 2 years. I originally filed in April 2021.

I was a bit shocked to be approved given that that MSC is a shoe in for an interview. Anyway, just wanted to update and find if there are similar MSC folk now experiencing approval without interview.

Wow a 48 month extension letter after the 24 month. That is crazy.

Looks like they are expecting I 751's to take 3 to 4 years so I would say go for it.

Yes, if you various threads, people report the same. Seems like IT issue at USCIS.

I think of it as 3/3/3 rule....3 years of being married to US citizen, 3 years of having green card and 3 years that your spouse has been US citizen.  You can apply 90 days before your GC 3 years issue date and having a pending i-751 is OK (best to let USCIS know that you have pending I-751 when applying for N-400).

    All the best.

Tried to look for the answer and did not see it. Can you file the kq and keep at same time? The child is 3 years old and not petitioners child. Thanks

From personal experience, Philippines health system isn't that great and can easily be a death trap if there were truly a big pandemic. Not saying COVID isn't big (though seems to be overblown and a lot about control).

Finally got the text message today. Was super surprised our case was not sent to the Potomac Center (we live in VA). We got the Missouri service center MSC.

Also why the medical system will always be poor in the Philippines. There seems to be a lot of malpractice there and if you sue the hospital, they will in turn sue you for libel. Which is crazy because the life of a person is vital. I was a victim of malpractice in the Philippines with the death of my wife prematurely. I also have another friend who lost her husband after just two months being married because the doctors decided it was better to send a potential head injury home than to get a ct scan of the brain. Anyway...other than that love the Philippines.

That was the way with me. I was told to sit down. But then the officer wanted to ask me a few questions, so I went up then. I sat down in the seats provided in plain view of the wife. Maybe like 3 minutes later I was called up to answer a few questions. Good experience also.

    The POE was Washington D.C.

Before leaving Manila, I learned at immigration that they required proof of my daughter's dual citizenship, especially since American passport BB Visa expired last February 2018. I am glad we got her Filipino passport. After that, it was smooth in Manila.

Beijing is very strict and when you go through there you feel like they are against you. But we were able to make it through after several re-screenings (they did not like the projector, the separate bottle water that was not in the baby bottle, and the power bank).

The POE was a breeze. Took about 30 minutes. The first officer was nice, then he placed the passport in the red container and called another officer to take us tot he secondary holding place. The second officer then question my wife privately asking her if she loved me and what the address in the USA was. After that, we were released to get our bags.

Then we got our massive amount of bags.

coa24 got a reaction from Hank_ in Luggage Storage NAIA Terminal 1?
after phone numbers not working for whatever reason (been happening a lot lately, perhaps the new system is not working yet), was able to chat with NAIA (Messenger). So the only public spot for luggage storage is Terminal 3 at Luggage & More in the arrival section of the terminal.

Luggage & More charges by the piece (contacted them via Messenger)

350 php per day or 200 php per 3 hours.

    They are open 24 hours

There is a hotel located in Terminal 3, but it is small, like 34 beds.

You can take the Loop bus shuttle for 20 php if no connecting flight but need to transfer to a different terminal for a later flight. Shuttle is free if you have a connecting flight.

For those wondering and thinking of using the services in the future.

I really feel bad for those who were working hard to get their petitions in before the closure date. I know of one or two personally who were doing just that. Now they are faced with either staying in the Philippines through the whole process or leaving their spouse back in the Philippines while they work. or get their spouse a tourist visa and also file the spouse visa, etc.. Tough decisions to make because it is hard to be without the spouse for an extended period of time. This is where I feel they should give the visa applicants who have spouses preference over K-1 and others.

Ok. I suggest you confirm on a Canadian border site that they are happy to accept that as an i551 before you travel. While all forms of i551 are valid for re-entry into the US and anything else you need a green card for domestically, they are not always all acceptable in other countries that use green cards for visa waivers. I suspect it’s probably ok for Canada - but I’d certainly check first, especially if you’re flying.
