I agree, a B2 application is his only option and that is all on him. I will say having a USC spouse might be an issue.

Affidavit of Support
Dashinka replied to RMahyew's topic in Bringing Family Members of US Citizens to America
If this is going through a consulate, I would recommend having your wife fill out an I864A. A consulate may ask for it, and it is better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it. Good Luck! -
Probably could go in the Biden messing up thread, but DEI seems to be a separate topic. The dodgy data behind the DEI crusade DEI has been pitched to Americans as an effort to foster workplace harmony. But if a scathing new report is anything to go by, diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) is nothing more than a cynical marketing ploy founded on corporate doublespeak. And the Biden administration has fallen for it. An exposé published by the College Fix this week reveals that at least 51 federal agencies have justified their DEI policies by citing four studies by McKinsey and Company, an American consultancy firm. These glossy studies – ‘Diversity matters’, ‘Delivering through diversity’, ‘Diversity wins’ and ‘Diversity still matters’ – make the so-called business case for DEI. But critics are now eviscerating McKinsey’s research as shoddy, agenda-driven and riddled with weak data. Take a new rule from the Department of Labor’s Employee Benefits Security Administration, enacted in January last year. This rule expands the application of environmental, social and governance (ESG) criteria – used to measure a company’s ‘social impact’ – to government pension funds. Essentially, this means retirement-fund managers now have to put ESG considerations at the heart of their investment decisions. Supposedly, this is because companies with a good ESG score will deliver the best returns. What research is this claim based on? You guessed it: two McKinsey studies that suggest ‘social responsibility’ is the golden ticket to productivity. Economist Alex Edmans, professor of finance at the London Business School, has slammed the Department of Labor for clinging to McKinsey’s dubious work. He argues that the department had ‘already decided’ its preferred policies and ‘searches for any study that will support this idea, regardless of its quality’. ‘McKinsey is a consultancy, not a research organisation’, Edmans concludes. ‘The goal of its papers is marketing rather than scientific inquiry.’ https://www.spiked-online.com/2024/05/19/the-dodgy-data-behind-the-dei-crusade/

I have a garbage email I use for sites like VJ, and I never check it. I am pretty sure I still have an email address from a program I took through UofM which I am sure is full of useless stuff. I tend to agree though, I pay for cloud storage as well and I often delete pictures I no longer need which are usually photos of a package or product my wife wants me to get at Costco.

Daily Update on Biden Tanking America (Part 2)

Isn't Labor expected to take power in the UK? I haven't watched or researched their take on the entire Rwanda scheme. -

This is key. Seems to be the plan all along with this pier. "In a few months, we'll probably see thousands of Palestinians boarding ships bound for America that are tied up at the new $370 million dock we just built." https://www.theamericanconservative.com/coming-to-america-what-if-that-gaza-pier-is-a-two-way-street/ -
Apparently there are some folks in Iran that are not mourning properly. Btw, how many virgins does one get when they end up in the bad place? Iranians CELEBRATE the death of President Raisi with fireworks while victims of his torturous regime and their loved ones dance and drink a toast to his fatal helicopter crash Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei has declared the nation will observe five days of mourning following the death of President Ebrahim Raisi in a devastating helicopter crash in the mountainous northwest of the country yesterday. But there are plenty of Iranians who are instead celebrating the unexpected death of the president, who has earned a reputation as a brutal, hardline executor of Khamenei's will. The daughters of Minoo Majidi - a 62-year-old Iranian woman who was one of hundreds of people shot dead by security services during the nationwide fallout following the death of Mahsa Amini in September 2022 - shared a video to social media raising a glass to the president's demise. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-13438055/Iranians-CELEBRATE-death-Presdent-Raisi-victims-torturous-regime-loved-ones-dancing-drinking-toast-fatal-helicopter-crash.html

Name change AFTER Green Card?
Dashinka replied to Zin-Zin's topic in Moving to the US and Your New Life In America
This should be helpful. Essentially she will need to file an I90, pay the fee and provide a copy of the marriage certificate. Others may know better, but I believe it is best to update the GC first, then she can look at other items like the DL, etc. Good Luck! https://www.uscis.gov/tools/uscis-tools-and-resources/information-about-your-immigration-document/updating-or-correcting-your-documents -
Interesting study. New Study: Trans Suicide Rates Double After Gender Surgery Agroundbreaking study has brought to light alarming findings regarding the mental health of transgender individuals who have undergone genital surgery. The research, which investigated the rates of psychiatric emergencies and suicide attempts before and after gender-affirming surgery, has uncovered a disturbing trend that demands immediate attention and action. The study’s results shed light on the complex challenges faced by the transgender community and the urgent need for comprehensive mental health support throughout the transition process. One of the most shocking revelations from the study is the dramatic increase in suicide attempt rates following vaginoplasty. The research found that the overall rates of suicide attempts doubled from 1.5% to 3.3% (p=0.017) after this particular gender-affirming surgery. This finding highlights the immense psychological toll that the transition process can take on individuals and the critical importance of providing ongoing mental health support. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/other/new-study-transgender-suicide-rates-double-after-gender-surgery/ar-BB1jMREb https://www.auajournals.org/doi/epdf/10.1097/JU.0000000000001971.20

n400 withdraw form that we didn't request
Dashinka replied to Hmmehanna's topic in US Citizenship General Discussion
Did she submit the form immediately upon the window for filing opening? Others have had issues with the online system when they submit minutes after the window opens, but the IO should have indicated that at the interview. Otherwise, I would be calling USCIS and requesting "Infopass" and try to get a Tier 2. Also, the notice should show up online at some point in the near future. Additionally, it could be a glitch where an IO simply made the wrong selection in their system. Good Luck! -

I think this is in the context of someone just looking at possibly getting a GC through you. Of course we do not know her or you, hence the advice to be careful. Good Luck! -
The co-sponsor needs needs to fill out one I864, and if the co-sponsor is married, they should probably have their spouse fill out an I864A as many consulates request that. Your friend will also need to fill out their own I864 even though she is using a co-sponsor. I believe the I864(s) and evidence of ongoing relationship, but others may know more. Depends on the consulate and their backlog of work. Good Luck with your friend.

Travel before oath ceremony
Dashinka replied to stephbd's topic in US Citizenship General Discussion
That is my memory from when my wife naturalized. In her case it was travel between when she submitted the N400 and the interview, and the IO only asked for dates and destinations and did not seek any evidence. She was asked again at the oath ceremony, but she had not traveled between the interview and oath. Congrats on finishing!
