If it reaches the point of drafting married men with children, the family has a lot more to worry about than just that. That would mean every man between 18 to 26 who is unmarried or married without children has already been drafted. That is a rather serious world war to reach that point.

So you have an interview scheduled already? Good for you! Why don't you fill out your timeline so everyone can see how super fast you are getting this done! I'm still confused to who will do your background check...maybe they will do it backwards and have you checked up after the interview? Please let us know what happens because I really don't think they will skip that step.

It doesn't have to be Kammarkollegiet. I have a friend working as certified translator and I used her. I used her as late as two months ago when I ordered a copy of my daughters birth certificate from the embassy. The instructions for those matters also say to use Kammarkollegiet but any certified translator will be accepted.

This topic though. All I can say is anything is possible especially for people in the Phillipines who seem to get treated very differently from the rest of us.

He's still have to (unless he's going to lie on the medical too....) admit to drug use during his medical. They're then going to find out he lied on the ESTA which is misrepresentation.

I think you are overstepping your boundary as a friend.. You have voiced your opinion about this whole thing to her.
That should end all of your interference right there.
No one would even tolerate even family members doing this kind of meddling you are doing.

I have made some bad decisions which my friend may have warned me about but i learned better when I found out I was wrong..But my friends were always there to catch me when I fell.
That's your duty as a friend.
I doubt you will accept it if it turns out that you were wrong about this relationship all along. You will rather be right than being wrong and your friend happy.

All I'll say is there are many legit marriages here that have started under similar situations.

Gc&dl lying on the ESTA can come back and bite him big. He has abused the system and it's not looked lightly upon. Prepare for a ban, it wouldn't be unreasonable to think for longer than a year and don't expect for him to get a visitor visa any time soon. It won't matter if you guys let the K1 expire and start over next year. It might not show in the police certificate that he was convicted but the questions will still have to be answered truthfully. And the lies will still be there. I say bite the bullet, go to the interview and deal with it.
