You mean the I-193 fee?

Have you ever been a green card holder?

No. Typical Army brat - comfortable everywhere I go. I happened to marry a woman who is better at partying with me than preparing for international travel while I am in another state.

Thanks for the comments. I think I will UPS it to her at a hotel near the airport. About $225.

I recommended that she staple it into her passport (like I did my COVID docs) - she declined. Is that a good or bad idea?

Ni.

Do not mail it to her.

Do as @Mike E posted: have your wife use her passport with the endorsed visa.

Or meet her and hand it to her.  Take a vacation in Spain or Itali or Greece.

Maybe I’m reading too much into it but you seem to be infantilizing your wife when you mention her, not a good look. Everyone makes mistakes and there is a straightforward remedy that doesn’t involve shipping her card to a war zone or damaging her card and passport. Hopefully that’s just your frustration coming through…

If both the passport and visa are present, why the I-193?

The lower the expectations I set, the more pleasant the surprises.

If the CBPO asks about her gc ….

Jenny is still in transit. When she gets to her mom, she will send a picture of her passport stamps. I suspect she has neither her visa along her green card with her.

Based on Mike E's comments, she will have the picture of her green card and me waiting at the airport with the green card. PDX MAY be relaxed about these things. It is recovering from a terrible reputation, years ago for international travelers, lost its CBP presence and worked hard to to get it back.  When I returned to the area, I was pleasantly surprised by the number of international connections.

Some have commented that shipping to a war zone is risky. I agree. My thought was to ship to a hotel at the airport in Warsaw - not a war zone. But I will go with Mike E's suggestion: relax and pay the fee if it is assessed. Not a huge deal.

To Sam Burns - yes, you are reading to much into this. I adore my young wife.

Does she have the same passport she used when she entered the U.S. on her immigration visa?

There is the visa issued by the embassy in Frankfurt. It is another card. I have the picture.

The embassy issued her immigration visa on a card separate from her passport?

I have never heard of such a thing.

I'm clueless. I thought it was a separate card. My image is suggestive that you are correct but inconclusive. However Jenny has internet on the bus from Lviv and reports that YES, it is glued into her passport. Mike - you are another Visa Journey hero.

😅 oh she’s young is she? I don’t get why you brought that up. If this was a movie I’d say it was a Freudian slip but whatever. I hope everything pans out.

she can board the flight to the U.S. provided she arrives before June 21, 2023.

Is the IV still valid after you become an LPR? I suppose this would work with the airlines, and it would be trivial for the CBP to identify her, so that's more of an academic question.

Yes, if it was properly endorsed when first arriving in the US.
