B1/B2 Application while awaiting IR1/CR1 interview date

Hello Everyone

Can I apply to renew my B1/B2 visa while waiting for an interview date in Nigeria for my spousal IR1/CR1 visa?

Anyone with this experience should please share / advise.

You can apply. Whether they will give it to you that's a whole other story. What ties to Nigeria can you prove?

expect tourist visa denial as u have immigrant intent and stronger ties to the US than Nigeria with the pending spouse visa petition

You can apply yes…. But i doubt it will be granted. They will look at the spouse visa application and likely assume immigrant intent.
