Fiancee worked in Saudi....police clearance required?

Hi,

 

New to this board. Have a question please.

 

Gathering information in I-129F paperwork.  We've been chatting coming on 2 years, visited her twice.

My GF worked in Saudi within the last 5 years (2017-2018)We have her employment information,

phone number of previous employer, exact dates entering and leaving Saudi.

 

Unable to determine if she would need a police clearance from the Saudi Embassy in Manila and paperwork

requirements to obtain said clearance.

 

Thanks and appreciate any advice.

IME, because K-1 is a non immigrant visa, the law does not require a police certificate from Saudi Arabia, but law gives embassies discretion to require it. I predict it will be required.

If she is a Filipina and no longer resides in Saudi Arabia, police certificate from Saudi will NOT be required.  From the DOS Reciprocity page linked above, it notes an exception for non-citizens -- "Police clearances are unavailable for third country nationals who no longer reside in the Kingdom."

Which part is incorrect? Here is again, numbered for your convenience:

You conveniently failed to include a #3. "I predict it will be required."  It will not be required due to unavailability.

In My Experience.  But he has NO experience with Manila.

I left it out because logically you can’t say a prediction is wrong until the time has passed. And also, someone already pointed out the same thing.

 

I’m sticking with my prediction since I’ve learned to never over estimate the state department’s failure to conform to its own rules.

But I have experience with an embassy that first says a K-1 needs a police certificate from country X and then after getting said certificate, says it is not required.

We have first hand experience with police certificate from Saudi. Now wife lived there for a few years. You can not obtain a certificate from the kingdom if no longer reside there. DOS knows this and it was not required for our K1 interview at the embassy. Just our experience.
