For those that received their extension letters, was the return address on the envelope the service center that has your application? Or was it different? Our application is supposedly assigned to Potomac (YSC, which would be an address in Arlington, VA), but I see something from USCIS in Informed Delivery to be delivered tomorrow (I would think it’s the 48 month extension), but with a return address in Lees Summit, MO. Past extension letters came with Potomac Service Center as the return address. No new updates since “fingerprints applied” in 2021 on the case itself.

Very few Potomac filers seem to have received extension letters so far, but it seems like some were sent out last week. It is likely that your piece of mail is an extension letter.

Hi, anyone with Nebraska center received 48montb extension letter? I filed in Sep 2021, Case starts with LIN, but haven’t received 48m letter yet….. start to feel anxious

my friend who filed with Potomac in Oct 2021 even received one today.

I'm also a Sept 2021 filer, Texas center, still no extension letter...so you are not alone.

I have a speculation: they know we now know how the case tracker works, so instead of printing the letter by service center or by date filed, they decided to randomize the letter batches, just so they can mess with us and prevent us from guessing.

That’s a good guess. I thought it would have something to do with service center, so I wanted to see if Nebraska has sent out letters to anyone.

I also filed in September 2021 and Nebraska is my processing center. I haven’t received the 48 months extension letter.

Potomac Service Centre; slow on cases AND the extension letters 😩Though I guess those of us stuck in YSC processing should be glad that it isn't going to take two years for the extension letter to come. 😂

...Let's hope I haven't just jinxed myself.

Looks like mine is arriving today; it also has Lees summit, MO on the return address envelope. I'm assuming that's just where they're coming from for ysc filers.

What if we receive a 48 month extension letter but no longer have our expired green card? I had my passport stamped back in December and they took mine away. Do i just ignore the letter and request a new stamp once the current one expires? Cheers!

Unfortunately yes. On the plus side it sounds like USCIS is now mailing out some sort of document instead of having to attend an InfoPass appointment to get a stamp in your passport. See this thread -
