My husband and I are currently residing in Dublin, Ireland. My husband got a job offer in the US and we want to apply for DCF. Unfortunately the Dublin embassy does not offer this service so we applied to London and we explained our situation. They emailed us today to say they cannot accept our request.
Is this because we don’t reside in London? Someone please help!

Likely because you don't reside in the UK.  Did you send the DCF request to the consulate in Dublin first, and they denied it saying they don't accept direct filing?

Yes we asked the consulate in Dublin first but they said they do not offer this service. So we asked London embassy..

What is your Husbands status in Ireland

Consulates have discretion on whether or not they accept your case.. I’m afraid you will have to go the regular CR1/IR1 route.

Do you think we could try a different consulate? I would of thought because my own country doesn’t offer DCF we could of applied elsewhere.

If you haven't already, call them and explain all the circumstances and urgency of your situation in detail. Maybe there was some misunderstanding, or maybe they can suggest an alternative expedited solution. It's worth a try.

Are you the petitioner or beneficiary?  If your husband is a USC, it seems odd.  Good luck.

Seems like you do not understand the purpose of DCF…….  It is for the spouse of a USC living together in the country where the consulate is located.

You can’t consulate shop.   Just file the petition online.

We are both living in Dublin. But since Dublin don’t offer DCF we can’t apply at a different consulate?

I’m the beneficiary. My husband is a USC and has a job offer in the states. I think it’s odd too.

No. You can only apply for DCF through the consulate that has jurisdiction for your country of residence . It is not a right to be able to access DCF. It is an opportunity that may be available but is not guaranteed. It is at the discretion of the consulate.

I assume this is the issue
