Hi,

I am a student on F1 visa and I am marrying a girl who has green card. Can I invite my parents for my wedding? If so what documents do I need to apply for their visa application and what is the chance of getting visa in this scenario?
Thanks in advance.

Your invitation bares no meaning at the US embassy. All the embassy will want to know is how strong their ties are to your country.

Immigration journey is not: fast, for the faint at heart, easy, cheap, for the impatient nor right away. If more than 50% of this applies to you, best get off the bus.

There is no invitation as part of the process.   They apply on their own for visitor visas.

Inviting your parents to come to the US is not an official process for immigration. You just invite them and that is it. And you don't apply for their visa. That is not a thing. Your parents must apply on their own.

Make sure they provide enough evidence that they have strong ties to their home country when applying.

Also, they should start research wait times to get a visitor visa interview. Some embassies are still struggling with backlogs since Covid. There have been reports of Embassies in certain countries not having appointments available for over a year.  Their visitor visa interview may be pass the date you get married.

I know in certain countries (like India), a visitor must have an "invitation" from a national as part of the visa process.  This is not the case in the US.

I'm not sure what other countries require an "invitation", but I see it creates a lot of confusion when talking about visitor visas to the US.  If you'd like your parents to attend your wedding, help them apply for a visitor's visa.  But your "invitation" has nothing to do with it.

go to the following site and put in your embassy and see the wait times for a tourist visa interview

for our country,  it was 100 days while another country was 409 days

the site will give u info if a tourist visa interview before the wedding date is even possible
