Should we be worried then since they didn't use my wife's previous biometrics when she applied for AOS?

I don't think there's anything to worry about. Just attend the appointment, confirm name, nationality and get fingerprinted. Biometrics are not always waived, you should always expect to submit them again. Same as interview. It's nice when they're waived, but nobody can guarantee it.

Nope. This just happens. At USCIS the right hand often doesn’t know what the left is doing.

I'm actually confused right now. This is from the letter we received prior to getting this appointment letter yesterday:

This notice informs you that USCIS is able to use your previously captured fingerprints. However it is not necessary for you to appear at a USCIS ASC for a biometrics appointment.

So did they or did they not use her previous fingerprints? And if they did, do we NOT have to go to the appointment?

We did receive notice in the mail to show fingerprints were applied to our case, but yesterday we received another notice with our fingerprinting appointment. Does that seem right? @Sarge2155

No it does not seem right, but once they schedule an appointment of any kind for you, you dare not miss it. CYA and attend the appointment and work it out there. USCIS has been doing alot of this lately.

We are in the same boat.  104 days without biometrics notification.  Two inquiries submitted, several useless chats, and nothing.

When will your window open for the N-400? Perhaps they will transfer your ROC once you submit your N-400. That’s what they did to our ROC! Is that 108 days for the bio?

Right.  It is 108 days since we submitted the case without hearing about biometrics, which is the only thing I am worried about.  People are getting them within 1-3 months.  However, Potomac can sometimes take up to 6 months to do those - from what I have seen online.  On the other hand,  I know Potomac takes 24-26 months for the actual decision on the case, so unlikely to hear a decision until September 2024.  That’s why I am not concerned about hearing anything on that front.  Our window doesn’t open until September 2023.  But, it is unlikely we will apply for N400 at that time.

Is there any reason you don't want to apply for N400?

When I looked through the Potomac timelines on VJ a lot of the I-751s took 24-26 months, but almost every case that had an N400 filed concurrently seemed to get approved within 4-6 months of the N400 being submitted (for a total time of 14-18 months since I-751 was submitted).
