Received Receipt notice for our AOS this month, biometrics today.

We received a USCIS update indicating our EAD was approved for I 765, card Is being produced. Is it common to get these notices that quick but it still take a few months to physically receive the authorization?

Submitted today! Thanks to everyone for all their help here.

Wanted to ask, as seeing the opening post has me a bit confused/worried - for the I-765 and I-131, were we required to provide another copy of the I-94 and K1 NOA2 if we're concurrently filing the I-485? I presumed the EAD and AP documents could be sent elsewhere, so after reading the instructions, we attached only a copy of the biographic page, K1 visa, and admissions stamp in addition to the 2 photographs per each form. Out of fear I just re-read the instructions on USCIS' website, but don't see where the I-94 and K1 NOA2 are required.

Everything else seems to be perfect, so hopefully I'm just a bit paranoid! TIA.

Edit: I did another control+F of the I-131 instructions and nowhere is K1 NOA2 or I-94 required. Seems to be the same for the I-765 (we correctly wrote the c9 category). Looks like we're all clear and now I can go see the Elvis movie!

Nice to see you in the same forum again!  Congratulations!  I will be joining this thread in a couple of weeks.  Wedding date is 8/21.  I have the AOS packet just about ready to mail, only awaiting the marriage certificate.  Trying to get the anxiety and paranoia out of the way before the wedding.  However, I'm sure once I review everything before mailing, I will wonder if I have it all together correctly!  lol

You should receive it in a week ten days from approved 765

It changes from

Your case is approved

Card is being produced

Card is produced

Card is mailed

Based on little reading I did, it should also say case closed next to EAD and if it's going to be a combo card it should also say case closed next to AP on the USCIS account.

  • Jan 26, 2021 = NOA 1 for I-129F (K1 Visa application)
  • Sep 8, 2021 = NOA 2 for I-129F (K1 Visa application)
  • Nov 16, 2021 =  K1 visa issued in Islamabad, Pakistan
  • Jan 20, 2022 = POE Dallas, Texas
  • Feb 14, 2022 = AOS (I-451, I-131, I765) Filed
  • Feb 20, 2022 = Receipt notice for all three received
  • March 21, 2022 = Biometrics in Dallas, Texas
  • August 9, 2022 = EAD (I-751 approved)
  • August 13, 2022 = EAD and SSN received (SSN applied with EAD)
  • September 6, 2022 = AP (I-131 approved)
  • September 13, 2022 = AP (I-131 receieved)
  • March 15, 2023 = I-485 approved (interview waived, New SSN received without DHS wording)
  • March 31, 2023 = GC in hand (Total time from NOA-1 to GC in hand 794 days)

Hey, you as well! :) We did nearly the same thing, the packet was largely ready-to-go pending the certificate. I had mistakenly thought we needed a ton of ‘commingling’ evidence prior to filing, so clearing that up was a huge relief (and time-saver). I’m very happy we had enough time to plan a wonderful wedding, though, I definitely didn’t want to just run to the courthouse after all this time.

Hope you have an amazing celebration! :)

Wow that’s wickedly fast. Was there an expedite involved? And what was the field office assigned?

Random question for everyone here: will the packet be sent from the Chicago PO Box right to your FO, or is it spread out according to backlog? DC’s looks fairly heavy, but I’ve been seeing people from big cities get approvals quite quickly.

No expedite we were expecting it to take months. I think it’s electronic? We couldn’t find a field office on our notices unless we just missed it completely

That’s super interesting, thanks so much. Did you also apply for AP while at it?

If you wouldn’t mind sharing your city, that would perhaps be helpful in figuring it out.

Interesting, thanks for noting. Seems like it would’ve logically gone to the LA FO (if there is one)? And I could only imagine how swamped that location probably was…

The AP card wasn’t also approved?

No update on AP card. Only a status change for AOS that it’s being actively reviewed and the approval for EAD. I just checked our notices again and no field office is indicated. Only a NVC center in Missouri w a P.O. Box at the bottom

Your package will likely go from the lockbox to NBC and will stay there until your LFO is ready to take your I-485 case.  I-765 and I-131 get processed at NBC and are not sent over to the LFO.

Thank you so much! We've already gotten the text notification that the I-797s are on the way, so hopefully I'll be more aware of things shortly. The case numbers were all preceded with IOE which was interesting, but the forum seems to suggest that's fairly standard now?

And I had no idea that the AP and EADs were done at NBC and not shipped out. That would explain a lot, thanks.

Sadly our AOS package was returned this week which is super frustrating! We couldn’t really

understand why either. The 797 notice lists that it was an outdated 485, as well as missing signature but we used the 7/15/22 version of the form (most current) and the signature is definitely there. 😩 So frustrating! Printing it all out to send again today and double checking everything but it’s really annoying that the reasons they listed don’t seem to apply to us at all. Does anyone have insight on this?

the other thing is we included 3 copies of our certified wedding certificate in the original package (one each for 485, 131 and 765), and we don’t have that many extra certified copies anymore. Can we reuse the ones we sent in the original package? They have the barcode stamp on the bottom now is all - but could use white out or something. Any thoughts?

Make sure you download your I-485 from the USCIS site, I would use another fresh download of the form to be safe. Stranger things have happened before but I just looked and 7/15/22 is a good version and will be the only version accepted starting 9/21/22 so I am not sure what happened there. Check your form thoroughly again several times page by page to ensure everything is filled out and signed where appropriate. Just make copies of the copies of your marriage license / certificate and use those them the next time you need to use them, but yes I would send back the same ones you used before since they have markings already on them from USCIS. I can understand your annoyance, but USCIS does not care one way or the other so just get back in the saddle! Second time will be a charm!!!!
