Good morning everyone, so my fiance I have filed a k1 and it's in the 8th month since noa 1.

She has menorrhagia that's excessive bleeding during her cycle and this has always caused her to be severely anemic.

She has got medical reports that Indicates fibroids that needs to be surgically removed and that would mean she would need months to recover from the surgery.

So my question is can we expedite our case based on that, since she would need my support in taking care of the house while she recovers.

If yes how do we get this started?. We need your support guys. Thank you all.

How to make an expedite request

I suspect you will be expected to demonstrate how you will pay for this surgery.

You need to read the specific categories.  Needing someone to Take care of the house is not one of them.  In addition, this is not emergency situation.  It is a chronic condition.  Good luck.

I don't see an expedite granted because of this. Her relatives are better situated to help, if needed, and have been in her life throughout the years when this was happening. So, it's not life threatening to warrant your expedite. Sorry

Immigration journey is not: fast, for the faint at heart, easy, cheap, for the impatient nor right away. If more than 50% of this applies to you, best get off the bus.

she can try

but understand

that only gets the case to embassy faster

it doesn't mean a faster interview/ the case would be part of a huge backlog still

and it doesn't mean the Ghanian will be approved or not put into long AP

it can also backfire

as u say "months to recover"  means not working and no  money to support the Ghanian

and i wonder why "months to recover this surgery /  neighbor had  A myomectomy and was back to work in 2 weeks

. It is estimated that 70 to 80 percent of women will develop fibroids in their lifetime — however, not everyone will develop symptoms or require treatment.

You can try.

I would caution against approval expectations:

1. You are no relation to her.  Fiances are not relatives nor spouses.  You are just a boyfriend who in the future could be her spouse, but is not her spouse currently.

2. Your girlfriend will need to show how she can sponsor you if she cannot work.  You will be an additional financial burden for her because as a K1 you cannot work in the US.  Also, based on her State's requirements, you may or may not be allowed to drive, which limits the assistance you can provide vs a relative who can drive.

Thank you all for the insight. I guess the expedite won't be an option.

Thank you so much. It's better we wait then.

Simple answer is no. The long answer is, she’s been dealing with this for a period of time and it can be assumed that she has a level of support around her that can help her out while she recovers without you coming on a K-Visa. Hang in there. Your turn will come.

Really?  That's the best you can do?

Sorry, housework is not a reason to expedite, just like heavy menses is not a reason to expedite.
