For months stores nationwide have been struggling to stock enough baby formula. Manufacturers say they’re producing at full capacity and making as much formula as they can, but it’s still not enough to meet current demand.

 

The out-of-stock rate for baby formula hovered between 2% and 8% in the first half of 2021, but began rising sharply last July. Between November 2021 and early April 2022, the out-of-stock rate jumped to 31%, data from Datasembly showed.

 

That rate increased another 9 percentage points in just three weeks in April, and now stands at 40%, the statistics show. In six states — Iowa, South Dakota, North Dakota, Missouri, Texas and Tennessee — more than half of baby formula was completely sold out during the week starting April 24, Datasembly said.

This is a true health issue.

 

The reality of politics is, "Don't mess with my guns, and don't mess with my kids."  The older kids are being messed with in terms of CRT, "trans" this or that, face-diaper mandates, skool closures, et al., and the infants are now at risk.  I really wonder about these polls that keep showing Bidementia's approval rating at 40%-whatever positive.  Who ARE these people, and what planet are they on?

As far as I'm aware a lot of the problem is due to the contamination issue and supply chain shortages. They've had nothing in the store for a couple weeks now. There's also multiple ongoing shortages of OTC drugs now.

Many said Biden was total incompetence . Wrong! He has screwed up America faster and with greater malice than anyone in history.

I have worked in the grocery business for the last 32 years. Until this last year, we had a standard to meet of having 30 'out-of-stocks' per day for the grocery department, the ENTIRE grocery department. NOW we 150 out of stocks per aisle, it is unprecedented in my 3 decades in grocery. It's not just baby formula, it's about 10% of all of the products that we carry that we are having a hard time getting in these days. We have a store brand cereal on my aisle that had the box shrink from 15.2 ounces to 12.7 ounces and the price stayed at $2.99. If the prices aren't skyrocketing, the package size is shrinking by 10-20% without you noticing.

 

As for baby formula, it has always been one of the highest theft items in the store. It is a high dollar item that thieves steal and the re-sell them at swap meets and on the internet. My guess is a lot of the theft of those items is now occurring in the manufacturing and distribution process and doesn't even make it to the store in the first place. A case of 6 cans of baby formula is easily worth $100-$150.

 

It's difficult for me to believe this is not all by design. My advice to everyone is that if something is on sale, you'll use it and it has a long shelf life, buy extra and stock up.

Well, at least we are sending $40 billion to the corrupt Ukrainian government for their fight against the corrupt Russian government.  In the meantime, what do new mothers feed their babies?

 

It is supposed to be about watching them go through joys and disappointments and learning from mistakes. 

 

It is not supposed to be about whether they will have enough to eat tonight or if the last can of formula on the store shelf will be enough until I find another. 

 

America’s babies and families deserve better.

I'm not entirely sure how we expect the government to solve the problem of baby formula. Ingredients to make the formula is undergoing a global supply chain issue and the largest manufacturer decided it would be better to spend money elsewhere instead of fixing broken down critically needed devices that kept the formula contamination free. The company has been very slow to acknowledge or fix the problem, so what can we do besides fine them? Importation of such formula from outside this country is nearly impossible due to safety regulation. Studies show there has also been a bit of a baby boom this year, and mothers are not breastfeeding which increases demand. Meanwhile, you can go to my local town facebook page and find posts of persons that have been hoarding and stealing formula and are trying to make some hot $$$'s.

If true, then U.S. authorities (or regular citizens) should consider:

   1.  Seizing the supplies by force

   2.  Getting the responsible Bidementia officials fired or impeached

   3.  Pushing for Bidementia's impeachment as a crucial national priority

 

None of this would be an issue if the "Remain in Mexico" policy were still in effect.
