Anyone knows if parents fully vaccinated by sinopharm can get Covid vaccine booster like Pfizer is the US?

I called CVS and they say it's only for US citizens.

tnx

I don't think that is true.  My wife is fully vaccinated, and she is not yet a citizen.  I expect she will be allowed to get the booster.

Thanks,

Any experience regarding my situation?

ok, how about eligibility? I want my parents to get a Pfizer vaccine as a booster since there is no reliable data regarding sinopharm. CDC recommendation is not talking about folks vaccinated with non-US vaccines.

Are you sure?   As a healthcare provider, I have never asked a patient about their immigration status, nor have I heard of or seen this happen in 25 years.

yes, I suppose the CVS guy was not aware of it. I'll try somewhere else. Question is, are they considered eligible for a booster? There is no guideline regarding eligibility of folks vaccinated with non-US vaccines. Any experience?

Some countries such as Brazil, UAE, and Indonesia are actually offering US booster shots to people who have been vaccinated with Chinese vaccines. There are also people in my country who have taken two doses of Sinopharm or Astrazeneca, and then a Pfizer booster shot.

I also have friends who have traveled to the US for the vaccine on tourist visas, so immigration status doesn’t matter

The CDC isn't going to have data on foreign vaccines. Just have them go get the booster.

Can you mix COVID-19 vaccine booster shots?

Yes. The F.D.A. has updated its authorizations to allow medical providers to boost people with a different vaccine than the one they initially received, a strategy known as “mix and match.” Whether you received Moderna, Johnson & Johnson or Pfizer-BioNTech, you may receive a booster of any other vaccine.Oct 21, 2021
