Hi there,

I have heard different opinions about this one so if you could help me out would be good.

I’m currently waiting for my AOS to be approved to technically I cannot leave the USA BUT.. I wanted to know if I could go on a  Caribbean cruise and stay in the boat? Is it possible to stay on the boat and then be able to go back to the USA?

please give me your thoughts with arguments please

"Technically"???? It appears that you do not have an approved AP document.  Therefore, I would not leave the US.  Also, this thread  has some good opinions:

OP's issue is the cruise ship going to foreign ports: https://help.cbp.gov/s/article/Article-74?language=en_US "If you are not a U.S. citizen or a U.S. LPR, you will need a passport and/or the appropriate documentation based on the status you are seeking in the U.S. for any type of cruise, closed loop or not." https://web.archive.org/web/20190824072204/https://www.uscis.gov/archive/blog/2014/05/five-questions-about-advance-parole_9 "advance parole would not be needed if you travel directly between parts of the United States, which includes Guam, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, American Samoa, Swains Island and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI), without entering a foreign port or place."

Thanks.  Every Caribbean cruise I have been on (multiple) stopped at foreign ports.

No,  till u are done with AOS and then can leave the US

Once you enter international waters ,  u have left the USA and would not be allowed back in

My brother in law wanted to take his new Russian bride on a honeymoon cruise and found out she could not go

Why is international waters 12 miles?

Image result for international waters?

For a long time, territorial seas stretched as far as a state could exercise control from land. ... With the negotiation of the 1982 United Nations Law of the Sea Convention, the allowed breadth of a territorial sea claim was extended to 12 nautical miles (22 kilometers).
