I paid $2000 5 years ago for a simple CR-1 case.  That was in addition to all the other associated fees and costs.  I would not do it again.  The attorney delayed our case by several months and gave us inaccurate information.

Fairly simple_form, why do you need a lawyer?

Thanks for your reply and assistance. I was expecting $5000 but I could handle this amount or something around that figure. I requested to speak to a lawyer I hired back in 2017 for some other legal matters which he was able to remedy for me so now I’m waiting to hear back from him. This lawyer was very professional and I got the results I was expecting so I’m not too worried about him screwing me over. I wouldn’t hire anyone else unless I’ve dealt with them before. Thanks again

This reason I was considering a lawyer is so I don’t have to deal with the anxiety and stress of the paperwork. It was just an idea and I’m waiting to hear from my lawyer to see the pros and cons before I decide

It is not even your form, what is the stress?

You have a good point. I see. It’s my wife’s responsibility to complete the application. It’s just that I’m expecting her to have questions she probably won’t know how to answer so I have to help her but I get your point. I’ll probably won’t bother with the legal help. I did the k1 visa by myself back in 2005 when I petitioned her and it was a breeze. I shouldn’t have any issues with this application either. Just saying. Thanks

you will  find out that you stilll have to gather everything and instead of providing immigration with documents ,  you gather for the lawyer

then  you have to read the applicaiton to make sure all is correct as reading on here,  many have had errors from attorney office making the process difficult

lawyer will fill out petition and make copies of what you bring in and mail it out

and  $2000 is low  / more like 3000 to 5000 for each petition

If you ended up doing the K1, AOS, ROC and N-400, the I-130 is super easy by comparison.   Use an online PDF filer like DOCHUB, make a master template and copy as needed,

The most painful part is the many many many year wait.

YMMV

Yes, I think I’m better off doing it myself since I did the k1 visa for my wife and didn’t have any issues and It will actually be cheaper if I do it myself. It’s not like I got 4-5k to blow anyways. I could save the money for the application fees. Do I have to fill out additional applications for each of my wife’s brother and sister or is it just one application for all the siblings? She has 1 brother and 1 sister.

Sounds like they are looking to retire to the US.

Payxibka. How long am I looking at for the wait on the F4 visa? Paul & Mary. I’ve never heard of pdf filer like Dochub. Do I really need it or can I just file the form without it?
