I feel you! My group is also 68000.......there has been almost 0 activity past week. And there are still around 80 cases untoched. Its very frustrating...... if they just process around 100 cases a day they could be done with March group in 1 or 1.5 weeks!

Who knows their strategy, if any. My biggest complaint about this process is the absolute lack of transparency and logic.

I’m gonna say this and I’m sure it won’t be well accepted. Let’s please understand that the K1 visa is one of dozens? Or more of visa types that the USCIS processes. So where I understand it’s tough for us to sit here and be upset about the low numbers of k1 actions that we see daily, we have no idea how many other types of other visas are being processed.

Well. It should be consensual that family visas are prioritary. At least that is traditionally the consensus everywhere.

But in any case, this is the grand total past 8 months:

Jul 21 - 40005
Aug 21 - 45491
Sep 21 - 47454
Oct 21 - 36245
Nov 21 - 35647
Dec 21 - 38397
Jan 22 - 33039
Feb 22 - 35942

of course. But the fact that its the slowest its been in what a decade? and that things slowed down by months and months out of nowhere is a very good reason to be upset.

they have other stuff for sure, but things have been slowing down for almost 6 months now and there has been time to at least adjust things imo and its only gotten worse

Exactly this. Something happened back in October and since then the processing rate has been abysmal. 5 + months to finish one month of filers is a sick joke

Of course it is one of dozens of other types, but that was the case 3, 5, 10, 20 years ago as well. The only thing that has changed is the competency level of those in charge. I look at timelines from 2018 where the K1 process from start to finish was taking as little as 6-8 months from the time of filing to the beneficiary entering the US.

Are these the pending cases/ running backlog?

This is the grand total of approvals for all immigrant visas each month. March numbers are not yet available, but I'm extremely curious to see it in the coming weeks if the slowdown in K1s match a reduction in overall visa approvals.

A sudden drop in over 10,000 cases is really strange. Is there any explanation for it?

Does anyone know if cases have been sent to smaller service centers? I've heard lawyers saying that when they get behind at the main service center, they sometimes start sending out to smaller centers. I'm wondering why they haven't done that yet since this seems like a quick solution 😞  (We filed in June 2021 btw, I need to create a timeline).

No idea. On TT I have seen a lot of people associating the mess it is nowadays with the appointment of the new Head of USCIS, Ur Jaddou, who took the position August 21.
