Hi all, Our (K1+K2+K2) I-485 got a case status update "Case approved" on 28th Oct 2022. I am wondering what we are expecting next? Will the GC arrive in mail, or will there be another case status update before? Timeline K1 + K2 + K2 AOS Received 12/09/2022 Biometrics 06/10/2022 K2 EAD approved, card was produced 06/10/2022 K2 EAD and SSN received 15/10/2022 I-485 approved 28/10/2022 (K1/K2/K2) Still pending: EAD, AP K1 + K2 AP K2 NOTE: We did not expedite, and we are amazed how fast I-485 was approved, our local office shows average 18months processing time (Raleigh, NC). Also we were expecting different timelines for K1 and K2, not that it would all get approved on the same day.

Well to be honest that information is not very important before they send it Sure I called them and got the case number, because I was impatient and it is helping with mental stress during the waiting to see something is happening, so I understand that mental need But there is plenty of time to do DS-160 and create US travel docs account and book the medical, even you get that case number from the emai when case is in transit. Also I noticed myself and many others, that gaining this invoice number your only option is to contact NVC, because that is not included the letter, but the invoice number is irrelevant for the K1 process and DS-160, and in my opinion just confusing the K1/K2 applicants.

We got an email from the NVC when the case was sent to the embassy. This email contained the PDF letter informing our case have been sent to the embassy and included the case number.

There is no fee for NVC with K1, but there is the MRV fee you pay for the Embassy. I created 3 separated DS-160 forms, to be honest I thought it was too much of a headache to figure how to do that family form :'D DS-160 does not need any account

When your benefiaciary creates us travel docs account she will fill the information there. She needs to do separated DS-160 forms for all of them, and confirmation page numbers will be added to the us travel docs. Then when all information is there and children added to get visa application, you will get MRV fee slip where all their payments are combined. So all fees can be paid with the same MRV slip. You need to make separated 134 forms for each too Oh and I forgot to add, you dont need NVC invoice numbers at any point of the process

No they will all be under the same case number. When case is processed at the Embassy, there will be NVC case number and 001, 002 and 003 following the case number. You will still see the status for all entries using the NVC case number

Hi. We got double approval, and I believe it was because we never got the NOA2 and we made an e-request about missing notification. We got approved 04/21/2022 and we got approved 06/02/2022 We finally received the NOA2 now. Receipt date was 06/01/022 but validity date shows from 04/20/2022 to 08/19/2022. We had our case ready at the Embassy when we got this second case status update. Just wanted to let you know, because at some point there were a lot of double approvals and people were thinking why. This missing mail could be one of the reasons. I hope this wrong approval date on our receipt wont cause any trouble in the future.

I think that is all you get from NVC. That is the NVC letter. The one with the barcode. That you will take to the interview. The instructions from embassy (I got that email after my interview was scheduled) was just a general checklist of needed documents and the names of the doctors doing the medical checks.

You didnt get the letter from NVC with your case number when NVC mailed the case to the embassy? We got that via email.

Through the us traveldocs you can schedule the interview and find all information you need to know. We didn't receive any instructions or email from the embassy, and site said no available interview appointments, so I went and emailed the embassy and got the interview date. When case says ready get your documents together, fill DS-160 and on that webpage you are also able to get your MRV fee slip to make the payment. After the payment has been registered you are able to schedule the interview too.

Okay something really weird happened. We got a notification that our case was approved 2nd June 2022 by USCIS. But we were approved 21st April 2022, and we are waiting the interview to be next Wednesday at the embassy. Also we never got that NOA2 and we made an e-request about that, and then USCIS emailed us that our case was approved 20th April 2022. Weirdest thing is that on myUSCIS page the case history does not show the 21st April approval now at all, but last entry just changed from 21st April to 2nd June.

You can email to the embassy. Go to the embassy webpage and you should find some email address from contact us. I am not sure if it is better for the beneficiary (the actual visa applicant) to email them. I just emailed them today because there were no appointments available, and they got me back and gave me the interview date for the next week. We have DS-160 and medical done, and all documents ready We didnt get any letter from them either, but our case just went ready today

This process is so stressful and comes with 0 flexibility. If any company treated their paying customers like this, they would be out of business.. I am really sorry about another delay with your case.

It has been now a week since I paid the MRV fee. I still got no email from the embassy that they confirm my payment. I got a pay slip from my own bank, so for sure it has been paid and I checked the reference number and it is all okay. How long it takes to get that email?

It is possible I have misunderstood something, but I am under the impression DS-160 is valid just for 30days. If you find some other info, please share

What I understood is that DS-160 is valid for 30 days. Our case is still at NVC too, hopefully tomorrow in transit. I filled the DS-160, because I am feeling super positive to get the interview appointment right away. What I do not know is what happens if that 30days will past? We have not received any email from NVC about the case number even we updated our emails for them. At this point I am just so impatient and missing my fiance so much, that I hoped if I do everything ready we are able to be together sooner. Cannot wait to marry the love of my life ❤️

Have you gotten a welcome letter? You need to make an account to the embassy webpage us travel docs then you need to fill DS-160. After doing that you choose on your account to new application. Then the application asks your DS-160 number and passport number and other basic information. Then you are taken to the MRV fee page where you are given CGI confirmation number. Then you are able to schedule the interview online. And medical needs your NVC case number and they might ask your DS-160 confirmation page. You can see the list of doctors and just call them

I am thinking the shipping dates sheet is wrong. It seems the sheet has wrong weeks on it. So we should be in transit next week!

We contacted USCIS to ask about our address, and at the same asked if USCIS already shipped the case to NVC. Well I had already called NVC before that, and I knew NVC had received it (we got out case number too already) USCIS told me that the case has not been shipped yet and I should give it 60-90days. I was thinking it is way too funny they bluntly lie to your face like that.. They had not updated the address either..

We got our medical done today The doctor told me to email her the NVC case number and interview date when I receive those, and said she will fill up that info then. Then doctor said that I can just pick up the envelope from them before the interview.

I was told I need to go and pick up the medical results, about 2weeks after the medical check, from the hospital, and bring the sealed envelope with me to the interview. If it was DS-260 then only they would send the medical results straight to the embassy, but I was told DS-160 is "old school" paper version.

I have not booked the interview yet, nor I have filled the DS-160. I only have the medical check and it is valid for 6 months. I was told I don't need the DS-160 or the interview date for the medical.
