  1. I think most of people get their status changed to actively reviewed after biometrics. This could become an RFE or an approval. In relation to timeline, could be a couple of months, could be a few more. There is no way of telling, as there is some incosistency around it currently.
  2. I haven't seen a lot of new cases beeing created on the tool, so maybe they are doing new year preparation. Considering the New Years, I'd give a few more days (I know, it seems we always been giving more days) before getting worried. Did you submit a check? Was the check cashed?
  3. You can create an account on USPS and you will have an option under the tab receive to sign up for Informed Delivery. USCIS should inform you of your tracking code, in any case, as soon as the case status changes to Card Was Picked Up by USPS.
  4. Yes, if mailing goes well. Mine changed yesterday to Produced, and today it was picked up by USPS and I got the tracking code. Should received it end of Week, or early next week, if mailing goes well.
  5. I wasn’t asked for any. I went to a SSA with passport/visa, I-94 and my A-number and they did it for me. The SSN is restricted, so you can’t use it for work until you have your EAD, but it is helpful for bank account and other stuff.
  6. I applied a week after arrival, not married yet, and it got delivered a few days after.
  7. Yes. Apparently they ask you to look the other way because if you see you may have an inclination to "help" the fingerprinting and that can distort the natural flow of the rolling the finger in the machine.
  8. Oh, that is interesting. That explains why we were being asked to look away when doing the fingerprints! EDIT: According to my wife, she has been fingerprinted before for different reasons, as she is a US citizen, and she believes that the green just means that the capture of the fingerprint was perfect, the orange means that it is blurry or not perfect, but can be accepted if the agent thinks so, and red means that the fingerprint has to be taken again. Not sure how accurate this is, and if also applicable to USCIS, but could be.
  9. Thank you! That is insightful! That probably means they don't need a whole lot of time to review and work on file once they have the biometrics! Well, celebrate now!
  10. Congratulations! That is amazing! Quick question, what was the status of the EAD ticker at the time you had your appointment? Was it in active review or was it Notice sent?
  11. When applying for the Work Authorization, you will have to select which elegibility applies to you. You are going to have two options: K1 - This will be only valid for the duration of your K1 visa (max 90 days, i.e. the permit would expire at the end of the 90 days after entrance with K1 visa) - in practice, I'm not sure how useful this is at the moment, as it is possible, if not more likely the permit would not be ready on timely manner, considering current processing times. Jointly with AOS. The duration of this one will be longer, and probably work for the time you wait for the Green Card; Processing times for EAD is heavily dependent on where you are applying for it. If you look into the timelines at VJ currently, some people are getting the work permit through AOS in roughly 30 days, others in a couple of months, and others have been sitting for quite some time. To be fair with you, and this is not advice, I see no point in applying it through K1 currently. AOS seems to be the only viable option. But I may be wrong here. To be fair, haven't heard of anyone applying for the K1 EAD in the last few years. Maybe someone else have head.
  12. I have no info on that, but that is the case for me as well, therefore I believe it may be standard (i.e. they do not scan all documents).
  13. Also got mine on Friday, and was able to retrieve it, but on Saturday got the physical letter itself with the appointment!
  14. No Priority Date. I got it a day after arrival, if I'm not mistaken. Most people are receiving it really quickly.
  15. The fear of the physical copy of the biometrics appointment not arriving is another reason to really try to get the access code! Glad you have the information!
  16. It is a sense of relieve to have them. At this point I'm not massively worried with having a missing NOA as I have the the receipt numbers texted, but I will be asking for another copy asap if it doesn't come until early next week. Would love to have the access codes, as I would like to know my biometrics appointment date.
  17. We have a similar timeline. My case status was also changed on Saturday to Biometrics appointed, but no letter. I also received on mail two NOAs, for AOS and Advance Parole. Work permit is still not here yet, although I know the case number. That weirds me out a little.
  18. Wow both so lucky…. Have had our case ready since end of May and still no information from embassy 😭
  19. For those of you who have already had an interview/ have an interview scheduled, how long did it take from the time your interview was ready at the embassy to have an interview date? Ours is at the embassy in Paris and it appears to be highly inefficient🥲
  20. Our case got to the embassy in Paris and we are devastated to hear it could be another 4 months or so until we get an interview. anyone else dealing with longer embassy times? to be honest I wasn’t mentally ready for another wait and I’m crushed
  21. Congratulations on getting the interview so quick! We just got contacted by the Dublin embassy. They got our case and are shipping it to the right embassy. Hopefully this goes quickly and we can get an interview date and schedule the medical soon!
  22. Just wanted to give an update in case anyone else deals with this… My fiancé contacted the embassy in Dublin and they told him they needed to send it to the proper US embassy and could not schedule his interview. PRAYING this delay does not take long, but from the other limited info I’ve seen on this looks like another 4 week delay. Really hoping it’s not that long 😭
  23. Hey All, Got some mixed news today. Good news is our case is on it’s way to embassy. Potential bad news is that NVC sent the case to the wrong country…. When we originally applied my fiancé was in Ireland for work, we thought he would still be there for the interview given our original belief of the timeline (but we all know how that goes ). So in the meantime he had moved back to his original country, Portugal. I called the NVC to tell them this and even submitted a request online with his new address and Portuguese passport like the person on the phone adviser. Alas, it is heading to Dublin. Praying that given this is still within the EU it might be ok??? Anyone know anything about this?? I’m trying to not overly stress, but I don’t think either of us can deal with anymore blocking points 😭
