You are in texas too? In my county it says they are making a big vaccine hub. Both my parents got on a waiting list, they are like numbers 58,000 and above haha

Yes, I am in Rockwall county.  Earlier today, the vaccine map showed vaccine available at a Walgreens near me......all gone now.

Oh hey I'm in collin county!! I'm sure there will be more available soon. Texas is pretty good at getting things going

I think it's just simply not known yet because Covid is still relatively new. But my understanding is that the antibody thing was a misnomer in terms of ever indicating long term immunity. This is why any "hope" around that died down quickly.

Really not much new in the way of travel requirements.  In the interests of everyone get the PRC test prior to travel and go about your business.  This inconvenience is minor compared to where we were four to six months ago. 

Also a minor inconvenience as compared with being on a vent for a month.....

Most air passengers coming to the U.S. from abroad, including children from the age of two, will be required to present a negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours of their trip. The new rules, introduced by the CDC, come into effect Jan. 26. Only certain passengers transiting through the country or coming from places with little testing capacity will be able to enter the country without a negative test. The U.S. currently bans most visitors from Brazil and Europe.

 

• Roughly 2.2 million new coronavirus cases were reported in the U.S. in the first 10 days of 2021, per Johns Hopkins University data.
• More than 27,000 COVID-19 deaths were also reported over that period, putting January on track to be the deadliest month of the pandemic.
• Arizona, California, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, and South Carolina are the five states seeing the most daily new cases per person, according to The New York Times.

Does this mean that 2 week quarantine requirement will be dropped if passengers are traveling through Europe? From what I know there was a 2 weeks quarantine requirement if some was traveling let's say from Asia through Europe (as layover).

Yeah, that was my question. Would a country have a right to bar entry to a citizen merely because they have a positive Covid test? Where would they even go otherwise?

I posted this in another thread, but this is part of the body of an email I sent to the organization I work for as I monitor all the global travel.  The key points are below, the full 9 page PDF is at the CDC web-site. 

 

 

 

The CDC has officially issued the COVID testing order for all passengers flying to the US starting January 26^th, 2021.  Highlights are:

• Test needs to be conducted within 72 hours from departure
• A PCR-test or antigen test is sufficient
• All passengers 2 years of age and older are required to do a test
• Crew members of airlines or aircraft operators are exempt as long as they follow industry standard protocols for the prevention of COVID-19 as is set for in the Safety Alerts by Operators issued by the FAA.
• Passengers who have previously tested positive do not need a test if they can present their previous test results (with the last 90 days) and a signed letter from a physician stating they have been cleared for travel.
• Connecting flights are OK, but connections cannot be more than 24 hours in length.  All flights must be on the same record locater.

They said they won't exempt people who've had the vaccine because it still isn't clear weather or not they can spread the virus asymptomatically.
