I absolutely don't want anyone to lose their chance of getting their visa. That would be horrible. We started our visa process 14+ years ago. Got to 5 days before our interview and everything was canceled and stopped. So what's another 3 months at this point for us 🤦🏼‍♀️.

I hope for them this gets lifted before their visa expires.

I also wanted to mention... since your interview was canceled 5 days before in early 2020, that means you're probably at the very top of the list to get rescheduled in Montreal. I'm not sure how many interviews Montreal does in a given month but I'd be interested to know. So hopefully it gets rescheduled soon

Are you sure? Embassy in Poland can not give interview according this ban to enter from Schengen area, even Belarus isn't in that area.

No not yet! Our PD is about two weeks away from becoming current as per the visa bulletin board. So we can only get an interview scheduled once it's current.

Great to see another Canadian here. Be sure to update, I'll give you a follow.

It is nice to see someone in Canada here. We were current June 2019 and it took forever to get to the interview being booked even before the pandemic. Hopefully we both get our visas soon 🙂

It’s not a ban, k1 is just a low priority visa right now. Most embassies are on limited capacity and only processing spouse/children of USC visas, some student visas & emergency visas. Schengen ban is a different issue.

The topic of this thread is April 22 proclamation (and subsequent extensions) which doesn't affect K-1.

Your case is affected by the different Schengen Area proclamation.

Well let's hope Biden doesn't continue this proclamation and cancels it after Jan 20th. His administration hasn't commented whether they will keep it or remove it, which makes me lean towards he will just quietly keep it in effect till March 31st. Thoughts?
