It matters to the diversity visa holders whose visas expire in March and who cannot get them reissued. To the rest of you it’s just another few weeks delay, but  those people will lose their visas completely.

You are focusing on the wrong thing. Even the previous Administration couldn't completely end the asylum pathway.

An eligible family member granted adjustment of status under LRIF is an LPR as of the date of his or her earliest arrival in the United States or the receipt date of his or her adjustment application (if the eligible family member cannot establish residence earlier).^[15]
