My passport is not from the U.S. My country actually has a renewal service that does not require your presence (AKA you ship it to them and they ship it back to you). It was shipped without a hiccup (this is the second time), but COVID is the cause of this unexpected delay.

It's not fraud.  It's the way passports work.  For example, when I applied to renew my Moroccan passport a couple years ago, the application went to the Moroccan consulate along with my expired passport, but the new passport is being made in Morocco.  It is shipped from overseas.  In the case of @Nib they will explain the situation to the immigration officer along with some proof and they should be fine.

Filed in November 29th online snd got the receipt the next day but so far nothing known about biometrics? When they will call for biometrics. Any body got any update please put in the group please. RP

I just checked my case status at the document section. My interview is scheduled at Alabama and I reside in Georgia. Is that a new development.

Hello Everyone,

 

My wife had her interview and passed Feb 11th in Boston. She said the interview took no longer than 15 minutes. Officer just asked to see her passport, green card and drivers license (of course we had a load of evidence if he asked). They spoke about COVID vaccines for a bit (wife is a pharmacy tech). He verified a couple things from the application (he made corrections to a couple mistakes). The only questions she remembered from civics was "name a state that borders Canada" and "name 3 of the 13 colonies". Then he went over the yes and no questions and recommended approval. Received status update the next day that oath schedule has been mailed. That's a wrap ladies and gentlemen!

Yes!! you can find yourself lucky as the USCIS is distributing the applications across the service centers and scheduling it across.

Just saw website was updated to say biometrics reuse letter was sent Feb 19th.  The Portland OR office is a bit slow so we know it will be a few months for an interview.  Some days it says June 2021 and some days it says September 2021...we will just wait and see. Good luck to those getting interviews!

Field offices' territories aren't restricted by state. It's generally your closest office. I live in Indiana, but my field office is Cincinnati.
