I know covid messed up everything and USCIS has furloughed sizable portion of the employees...but come on. I recall someone here getting her I-485 approved in THREE MONTHS. How is that fair?

One report does not make a trend.

YMMV

It does vary a lot for people based on where you live. Some service centers are more busy than others unfortunately. They probably were VERY lucky and living in a place where the service center wasn't as busy.

you think 3 months is unfair. there are folks waiting from Dec 2019. while those in August 2020 are getting appointments.

Hang in there , it will come when their pentium 2 processor at appointment center finishes with the backlog.  It gets heated too quickly and they have to shut it down. USCIS is too poor to replace them with new computers

They are figuring out how to waste money. Once that is done, Furlough will on the door

Ahahah....now I am even sadder. I talked to my friend who used to work in immigration field, and she made fun of that, too. She says the entire immigration laws in regards to the organizational structure should be re-written because its such a dumpster fire.

Congress is the dumpster that needs to be set on fire. I think moral at USCIS is probably just above your local DMV

I applied for AOS in January this year. Due to Covid my biometrics appointment on 4/2 was cancelled. Now, here we are, 7 months later - I finally have my biometrics on 11/2.

I know how hard waiting can be, but just because someone else is lucky, you don’t have to be petty about it. Your time will come too🙏

I get that, but kinda shows how luck is significant in this kind of thing.

It's not luck.  It is entirely to do with the work load of the LFO where an applicant lives.  We waited 14 months for my husband's AOS interview in Seattle.  There are many who have waited even longer.

Thousands and thousands of people are still waiting for their biometrics appointments, not just for i-485 but for several other petitions as well (such as i-751, N-400 etc). The ASC offices were closed for many months and once they reopened they could (and still can) only take a very limited number of people a day due to the covid-19 restrictions. There will likely be a backlog for some time to come at the majority of ASC offices.

It's taken an age, however I just had my Biometrics appointment this morning, USCIS received my package on June 3rd and I have been working with my State Senators office to try and speed the process up.

If you are struggling without any movement I would suggest reaching out to your local State Senator, it's helped me unbelievably.
