I got approved on saturday! (8/21). Got notifications by email and the app I use (lawfully). I’m waiting for the card to come in the mail at this point.

Good luck everybody, I couldn’t have done it without you guys and without this forum. Excited to move on to getting my citizenship 😊🇺🇸

Again, good luck! 🍀

Hello all,

We filed the I-751 on October 9th, Biometrics were on 12/11/20. On 5/26/21 we received a RFE. On 6/8/21 Nebraska Service Center received an additional book of a mountains worth of evidence. Over 2 months of not hearing anything, we requested help from from our Congressman. Today 8/30/21 we received a notice that our case was being transferred.

We believe that USCIS got pissed after I legally adopted my wife's son in January of 2020, which automatically makes him a US citizen (2000 Child Citizen Act), which instead of filing for a Certificate of Citizenship, we filed for a passport. Because of Covid shutting down the Passport offices, we didn't receive his passport until after we filed the I-751 but had it when she went to get fingerprinted in December. The local USCIS, was noticeably angry. They yelled at my wife, demanding how she got it. We followed the law, it is 100% a legal.

Is it possible they are just screwing with us because of me legally adopting her son and getting the passport instead of the Certificate of Citizenship and the USCIS not getting $1170 from us?

Thanks

No, they don't care about the Certificate of Citizenship nor the $1170.

You don't mention what the RFE was for and that is critical information.

I can't speak to why your local office had a problem with this or if they even did (meaning the local office not the employee that yelled). In my experience, they tend to be very stern (bordering on rude) but I have, luckily, not encountered them yelling at someone.

The local office was beyond rude. The female employee snatched the passport out of my wife's hand and raised her voice significantly above "Stern" and Angrily Demanded "How did you get this", then stormed off to the back to talk to her boss.

I didn't mention the RFE, because it requested our Tax returns, because we initially sent them an Affidavit from our Accountant that he was preparing our 2019 returns. The RFE was handled in 3 days (with overnight shipping) with 200 pages of 2019 and 2020's joint tax returns and documents of a joint owned investment property we bought in between us sending the request for ROC and receiving the RFE. They had more factual evidence of our ongoing relationship than most people send and now they had more than was required, so that is why I didn't mention it.

I'm in the same situation. Filed October 2 at SRC and Transferred November 12. Nothing since. I have read that we got transferred for interviews but not sure.  October we will be fillin N-400 and we will see what happens.

Now I am really confused:

We received a New notice today (after receiving a notice 2 days ago transferring our case) changing our Status from processing for 10 months to "Your Case Status: Initial Review", stating that they will begin fingerprinting, background checks and a photo......The Biometrics were done in December, 8.5 months ago.  We also found that it is being transferred to the National Benefits Center. So did we go back to the bottom of the list? She will file the N-400 in January  2022 (in 4 months). I really don't understand it. We are 100% legit. We are married, share the bills, the responsibilities, and have done everything 100% legally.
