Son visiting from Canada

Good Morning-

Haven't seen my son since January and he wants to come to Houston for a week. Is he required to stay in the US for 2 weeks to quarantine upon his arrival? Anyone have any idea what the US airport border will ask? I know upon his return to Canada he is mandated to quarantine at least 2 weeks. Just wondering what the protocols are for him once he gets here for a visit.

* We are in a F2A hold in Montreal.

Thanks

Anna

Are you a citizen or LPR? If so he can visit. Check what your state guidelines are regarding travel from Canada to see if he will have to quarantine or not.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) told CBC News that its travel restrictions apply only to Canadians trying to enter the U.S. at land border crossings, which includes travel by car, train, ferry and pleasure boats.

However, Canadian air passengers can still enter the country as long as they haven't visitedBrazil, China, Iran, Ireland, the U.K. or 26 European countries in the Schengen Area 14 days prior.

Canadian travellers also likely won't have to self-isolate for 14 days upon arrival. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that international travellers do so, but it's not a requirement unless specified by a particular region or state. For example, Hawaii requires that air passengers self-isolate for 14 days.

When Canadians return home, they must self-isolate for 14 days — as per federal rules

You must wear a mask when inside a business or when you are outside if social distancing is not possible.....per the governor.

If your son is a child it makes it hard for them to self isolate upon returning to Canada. Trust me I'm in a similar situation and am just as frustrated but the last thing I would want is my child to get sick while here, or potentially infect anyone back in Canada while trying to self isolate but being unable to do so as a non-adult.

Did the insurer SPECIFICALLY say they would cover him for COVID? Because most of the travel insurance companies have said that they WILL NOT cover for COVID.

Seven corners suck! We got them when came on K-1:K-2 and had emergency and had to go to hospital and they were useless!
