That is excellent news!  Was the ceremony ridiculous?  Hub's was.  People filing in for HOURS.  Can't imagine Judge Hidalgo would approve if it was unchanged!

Side note:  heard anything about this?

Took all of 21 minutes. In 15 minutes before they were to start at 9am. Out by 9:21. Pretty effortless. Family and guest we just all lingered around the parking lot so we could take pics by the USCIS sign.

Alot of broken hearts today. Cairo Embassy FB announced all routine visa services cancelled through September 30th, 2020. Until now, the embassy has not acknowledged IR/CR 1/2 as mission critical.

So sorry to hear that!

Montreal is not acknowledging the IR/CR 1/2 as mission critical either. Many of us have been asking and they keep ignoring us giving the same canned response that routine services are cancelled and no date.

I feel your pain. Even those with medical Expedited cases have had no luck.

hello all, my IR1 visa interview was done in Hong Kong this morning. I've been so nervous for the past few days as the no. of local COVID cases surged recently, and I was afraid that my interview would be cancelled. Phew!

My medical report hasn't been emailed to US Consulate so I got a blue paper (221(g)). There was a little bit of confusion on the words by the Consulate Officer, but at the end, I was told to check with the doctor when the report will be sent, and when it's sent, I should then send my passport to Consulate for the visa.

DS5540 - it wasn't asked at all though I prepared the form and supporting documents.

Have you tried reminding them that your visa is not part of the visa ban? We did that with SA and got them to admit we were not included in the banned visas and that they would be looking at CR1/IR1 visas in a few weeks. Don't ease up on them. Quebec has had the most cases in all of Canada, but not enough to warrant ignoring family members. If they have mission critical services available, push them. Montreal had a long wait time even before COVID though :(

No wonder they kept asking me if I scheduled the appointment myself. I said I received the interview appointment email from NVC. Then they asked if I logged in to confirm my appt. I said theres no need to confirm, but I followed the instructions to log in and register for passport delivery.

Awesome and congrats 🎉.
How long ago was your medical done ? It usually takes about a week.

Thank you. :)

I did my medical on Jul 9. Just called the clinic and they said it should take 7-10 working days.

We got our interview date - July 24 Ankara, Turkey !

One question, we will bring some evidence of our relationship (photos, albums, etc). Will we get that evidence back or do they keep it?

Congrats!

They return them to you afterwards.

Did you ask them about the test and result schedule? I found out they send the test to the labs twice a week (it might differ from place to place).

So you can send the passport to embassy on 24th or 27th Jul.
