Hi everyone,

I am new to this platform and apologize if this is a silly question. I have been to morocco 2 times already and this coming trip in july will be my 3rd visit. I have been chatting with a girl for a very long time now on whatsapp/video also talked with her family members...i am planning to go meet her soon and if all things are well, no red flags etc I will try to get married on my first visit with her...I read somewhere else that its not safe to marry on first visit...whats the reason for this? its not like i am getting engaged in my first visit then filing paperwork..I am getting married and then file papers once I return back. Keep in mind I will ONLY do this if I see things are right..Is there a chance of denial marrying on first visit or is because it cant be a legit relationship? I just dont want to waste time and keep going back and forth till starting the paperwork which takes forever...

Please note - I have been to morocco 2 other times for TOURISM I am not sure if I can use those 2 visits as proof that I got to know her on my second visit there, maybe take photos with her family.....I hope I can get some of your input on this...

thanks very much

So your upcoming visit is your third visit to Morocco.  During which visit did you first meet her in person?  The issue is not visiting Morocco.  It's visiting HER, and for how long.  Have you looked into what it takes for a foreigner to marry a Moroccan female?  Lots of information available by Googling "Marriage in Morocco".  Here's where to start.  https://ma.usembassy.gov/u-s-citizen-services/local-resources-of-u-s-citizens/marriage-information/

Your post doesn’t make sense. You are planning on meeting her for the first time in July?

Is this an arranged marriage?

If you haven’t met her why does it matter you’ve been to Morocco before?

You then go on to say you got to know her on your second visit and maybe took photos with her family? Please be more clear.

And marrying on the first meeting is a huge red flag especially for Morocco. You question why is this, well, how many people do you know get married the first time they meet.. if you don’t want to “waste your time going back and forth til starting the paperwork” I would infer you don’t love her enough and that again would have me question why get married?! If you aren’t willing to do the work then you should probably find someone in the US because it’s not going to be fun, fast or cheap.

hello,

first 2 visits were tourism and i have not met her yet..i met her about 5 months ago on a muslim app and we have chatting ever since including video, also met her family on video...i will be going in july to meet her for first time and if everything is sound and no red flags i want to get married so that i come back here and start paperwork..is there something wrong with this? many say to not marry on the first visit..

is there any way i can use either of my last visits as proof that i have known her from previous visits and this 3rd trip will be for marriage?

we can do a engagement and take photos and maybe keep these as proofs that they were done in my first or second trip to morocco...

WOW, someone has the guts to ask others publicly to help him lie and commit fraud with immigration by falsifying old travel documents as “proof” about something which didn’t exist.

There is nothing wrong with marrying and coming home to do the paperwork.  What you need to understand is that two separate somebodies, with two separate agencies of the US Government are going to make judgment calls about whether your marriage is bona fide, or whether it is for an immigration purpose only.  Because there is a lot of immigration/marriage fraud coming from Morocco and the region, extra scrutiny is given.  However, they are going to consider all the circumstances in making these decisions, including relative ages, how you met, whether you have the same religion and how much time you've spent together in person.

The next thing you need to do is go to the link I gave you and determine whether your visit will even be long enough to accomplish getting married.

NEVER....EVER lie as a part of this process.  Your last question is about lying.  You have your answer.  Why you need us to give you that answer, explains a lot about why the Consulate in Casablanca sees so much fraud.  Get that idea out of your head right now or expect a big disappointment down the line.

i dont want to risk it and marry on first trip and get rejected...:))

You only need to be married to petition - but Morocco is a very difficult consulate and it is better to have more visits and more bonafides front loaded onto the petition.   Getting married and an approved spousal visa takes time, money, effort and good planning - especially in Morocco.

You mean lie in order to obtain an immigrant benefit?  NO.

Your plan to get married in July when you visit may not be possible, as the FBI record you will need to get before you leave takes 8-10 weeks normally, maybe longer because of the virus and lots of government offices working with limited staff or a big backlog of requests.  Without the FBI record you can't get married in Morocco.  That problem plus the high level of scrutiny cases in Casablanca normally are subjected to, and also the common sense of meeting in person multiple times before getting married wherever your love interest lives, suggests that you should hit the brakes a bit on your timeline and plan on making two or three or more trips to spend ample time together before marriage and filing the I-130 petition.  Also have a backup plan to live together in Morocco if the visa is denied if you really love each other and want to be together.  Good luck!
