I am from Seattle too and case is at MSC. We haven't received any updates. The only thing we have is the 18 month extension letter and case status online just says case received June 3rd.. Did you get notice about the biometrics or has your case status just been updating online? This is such a frustrating process.

Pretty disheartening. I filed in Feb 2021 which I guess means I'll be waiting at least until Feb 2022, likely longer.

Also not fun that you need to sit on it for over a year and not hear any updates. Makes you wonder if they even have it at all.

So I just received an email that the case is ready to be scheduled for an interview. June 2020, MSC filer, Local office is Hartford, CT. I was wondering if this means the interview is now necessary or could this move to case approved in the next few days as well? I thought I had seen cases where people had received this notice only to see that their case was approved soon after without an interview...

I believe cases that end up at MSC get interviewed whereas the ones that go to other service centers could go either way. I swear a saw a post by someone just yesterday in another thread explaining this. Let me see if I can fetch it. Edit, found it:

There were no changes online for the biometrics. They had not updated my address last year and it was just luck that I called them to find that my biometrics notice was sent already. They updated the address again and I got the notice a few days before the appointment.  Even at this stage the online status was case received!

All my mail was being forwarded correctly by USPS to the new address and this was the only mail that was missed. Oddly similar thing happened with our receipt notice - did not get it for more than a month. They claimed to have sent it & they would resend it after the call. I only got the notice sent after my call.

It would be prudent for all of us to keep calling USCIS periodically to avoid missing a notice for an interview!

This is such a frustrating process and we can't wait for it to be done and dusted.

I am getting so frustrated with these biometrics delays.

Congressman’s office said they couldn’t help until the case is outside of processing time, which is asinine cause that is currently 30 months for MSC.

Senator’s office got my privacy release form and then never answered.

Talked to an agent this morning and got the same answer of “keep waiting”. Asked to speak to a tier 2 agent and she wouldn’t let me.

I don't even care about the ROC petition itself, I just want to get the biometrics done before applying for citizenship in the next couple of months because USCIS not being able to reuse them for that petition seems to be the biggest bottleneck at the Milwaukee office. ☹️

Guys has anyone every followed or heard of AILA? I found this article and I just found out that they are having a meeting with a bunch of congressmen/women today at 10am to address USCIS issues/backlog. I tried to subscribe to the meeting but you have to be a lawyer to attend from my understanding. This may be helpful/may not. I Just wanted to share in case anyone was interested.

Some people did the initial application outside the US and never had an interview with USCIS, if that was the case then most ROC applications are normally routed to NBC for an interview. Sometimes it can take many months, even a year or more, it depends on how busy local offices are. Those who applied for AOS inside the US had interviews already and are normally routed to other service centers for an interview waiver determination. Almost everybody will get an interview, either at the beginning for AOS or at the end for ROC.

Our timelines are similar and we both had biometrics appointments on 12/08. What was the time between online case status changing to "Ready for Interview Scheduling" to you getting the email interview scheduled email? Do you mind sharing when your interview is scheduled?

I'm currently out of USA due to my mother's prolonged illness and death. My case status changed on 04/14 to "Ready for Interview Scheduling" and it is extremely stressful trying to plan a return.

Thanks in advance for sharing the info!

How do you get through to anyone at the USCIS number? Every time I get an automated person and I ask to speak to a representative and then the automated person says they can't help me and it hangs up!
