Consulate Review: Naples, Italy
Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : August 7, 2018
Embassy Review : The most relaxing environment ever!!!
The medical exam takes place the day before, and it is basically like the DMV - first come first serve. My husband and I showed up at 7 am and we were first in line, a few minutes after 7 a bunch of people started showing up. The entire process took about 2.5 hours because of how chaotic it was in there. but it was quite simple and smooth. You must bring your passport and interview letter and 4 passport photos. They require 4! Do not get confused with what you read on other websites because we read 2 and 3 on other sites, but they require 4!

The day of the interview:
The interview was for my husband but I was allowed to go in with him because I am a US citizen, If you are not a US citizen, you will not be allowed to accompany your spouse in the US Embassy. They will make you wait outside. There is airport style security, but everyone is pretty nice.
They let you in based on your appointment time, our appointment was at 8:30 but we showed up around 7:45 to wait.
Once we entered, it looks like a smaller version of the DMV - 5 windows and the Embassy calls you one by one.
The list that is on the internet for Naples is the required documents that you must bring. We also brought copies of everything that we had submitted, and then some.
The first window called us to review the documents that are listed on the internet for the interview, but they barely looked at it! They asked me what I did (the US citizen) and where I lived.
Then he told us everything looked good and we needed to wait for the consulate to call us for the interview.
Once called, I was also allowed to go up with my husband - this woman was seriously so nice!
She simply asked me how we met, and that was it! She asked my husband where he was born, and thats it! She did not look at any other documents because everything is online now. She told my husband he was approved and welcome to America! 2 days later, he received his passport with his visa stamp inside. We are filled with joy!
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
