  1. No major update. Says estimated time left is 10 months for one parent and 2 months for another. Both at the same center, filed the same day. I don't think the projected time is accurate.
  2. Nice, now the waiting game. My cases have 9 months and 12 months of estimated time, which I am certain are inaccurate.
  3. It is recommend to NOT start their AoS process when they are visiting you on tourist visa. Tourist visa is not an immigrant visa so it would be a case of visa fraud if AoS is pursued. Not to say people haven't done it before, they have, but is not recommended. File I-130 now and they can still visit you while the process is pending.
  4. Estimated processing times of 10 months and 12 months for mother and father, respectively. Both at Potomac center.
  5. Not necessarily. Service center is mentioned in the receipt, bottom left. I have IOE too for my parents at Potomac center.
  6. Same thing appeared early on as I was preparing the form. By the time I was ready to submit, no error appeared. In fact, the form said 'no errors found' right before clicking the submit button. I submitted two forms and have received receipt notices already. My understanding is that this is an inconsequential alert and shouldn't affect your form as long as you've entered all information correctly.
  7. Submitted applications for the parents today. Case status is the standard "Case Was Received and A Receipt Notice Was Sent".
  8. Sounds like you did file taxes though as you speak of IRS tax transcript. Submit that with a letter saying no w2 exists because you did not work but taxes were filed. Good luck!
  9. Sorry for your loss brother. He is in a better place now. 🙏
  10. Hi there. I have started filling the forms and will submit around mid-June; waiting for my parents to send some documents.
  11. It was SO chaotic that I decided to do it later. I haven't gone to SSA office yet, but soon hopefully.
  12. Congrats!! I have not been very active here after getting being naturalized lol. Very glad your journey is over!!
  13. A final worthless update: yesterday (24th), the status updated to "On February 24, 2023, we issued your Certificate of Naturalization for your Form N-400" despite receiving the certificate on the 20th, same day of the oath ceremony. 🤷‍♂️
  14. Citizenship certificate has your picture from green card application (same pic you have in your card). No need for passport, photos, nothing! Take your old/new green cards, EADs, etc if you have them because you need to turn those in.
  15. Yes, you can bring your family and friends, no problem at all. They do not need to present any documentation, not even their driver's license. Congrats yet again!! Don't forget to register to vote, change/update your license and of course get passport asap!
  16. The MSP office allows spouses but not in the interview room if it is not a combo interview. Mine was just for N400 so my spouse waited in the lobby area. MSP office is really chill.
  17. Thank you! 🙏 I wish you the same plus some more. Your kindness emanates from your posts! Excited about your journey coming to an end too!
  18. Congrats! End is near. Yes, multiple family members are allowed. Some people brought their little babies and they were napping at the back of the room. Pics, videos, all allowed. Make sure you take books, games, etc to keep you busy because my appointment was before 1 pm but the ceremony didn't start until about 2 pm.
  19. Hello MN people. I have an update on the oath ceremony. There were 1000 plus people being naturalized today in St Paul. They made us wait almost 1.5 hours before the actual ceremony took place but no complaints really, just glad to be done. Parking is usually $10 in the Kellog ramp but today was $15 because of course it was. Also an interesting story. They had us sit in random aisles and rows, in other words in random spots. Though at the end, distributed our certificates without any issues so I am pretty certain they used facial recognition to figure out who was sitting where. I had a mask on the whole time yet they still figured out where I was. Black magic! Gotta be facial recognition, right? The invitation letter indicated no aisle, row information. Wild. Anyway, glad that this journey is over. I am applying for passport tomorrow and updating SSN card maybe in the next few weeks. Good luck to you if you're waiting. Your turn will come soon!
