Hi all! I have some detail questions I’m hoping can be ironed out for my peace of mind.

I am working on my letter of intent and I realized, I don’t know what some of the terminology means. “Include the name of the country where embassy is located” I am in Oregon, he is in Nigeria. For my own copy of the letter, are they asking me for the Embassy in Nigeria? Which Consulate/embassy am I mailing this to? I am confused.

This is the template I used.. This is going with your I129F packet. You don't need to mail it separately.

I edited my response. Your template is a bit different. I used mine and only filled in the red areas. Submitted along with the I129f packet

We didn't put this in our letters of intent.  They are literally just supposed to be statements that you two are legally free and willing to marry each other during the 90 days.  That's it.  You're overthinking this.

Statement of intent.   Doesn't need to be in letter format.

YMMV

This! I have attached a copy of my fiancé's. Very simple and straight to the point.

I also have a question about the letter of intent:

It says that documents submitted need to have original signatures. My fiance is in Brazil so there's no way I can get her original signature for the letter of intent. Is there another way around this? Can I just use her electronic signature?

Thanks

Your embassy interview instructions DO NOT list a letter of intent. There is no need to prepare one. You should go to your interviewing embassy's website and get aquatinted with what is required and the steps to take to insure you will have a successful interview.

https://br.usembassy.gov/visas/fiancee/the-interview-2/

You must submit evidence of relationship with your American fiancé(e). Proof of relationship may be any document that you think will prove to the consular officer that you have a real relationship with your fiancé(e) such as visas to Brazil or United States, air tickets, phone bills, photos, correspondence/e-mails exchanged, etc.

Letter of intent is not a required document for Nigeria. I have just gone over the P3 letter from your embassy and it is NOT one of the documents that is requested. Why do when do will do?
