I hope nobody is or knows someone stranded in Russia right now! Frustrating news.

I am so glad my wife came home three weeks ago.  She was on one of the last flights from Moscow to DC.

Wow, in the nick of time!! This is really unfortunate for the people stuck there, especially if some of the USC's are on Russian visas soon to expire.

It appears they both had jobs and some kind of network of friends/colleagues in Russia, I'm not sure what spurred the decision to leave. Probably because they only recently heard Russia cancelling all flights abroad, to which then led to panic they may never get out. A lot of people move abroad assuming there will always be a quick and easy way back home if needed, few people anticipated the pandemic it seems. They may just have to wait it out, the problem is, they may not be getting the obligatory salary that Russian citizens are getting, thus money becomes an issue.

Yes .. the situation where abundant regular flights were no longer happening was not in my thinking that’s for sure .. at least not without some event which gave a bit of warning ...

What I find frustrating about a lot of the current Covid-19 related bans/restrictions is that they are "until further notice." It's mildly infuriating to my planner personality to not know when something will be over!

My wife's best friend is stuck in Moscow and unable to work because her job got shut down, cant even go back to Ukraine to be with her son and mother
