Hi everyone. So I am very confused here because I just received an approval notice that says they already approved my N-400. However, my interview/test is on the 27th. So I don't know if that day they will still do the interview/test or only the Oath.

The approval notice I got says that my next step is the Oath of Allegiance.

Pretty sure, they can not Approve your N400 without interview and Citizenship test. I think it is system glitch or they approved your pending I-751 prior to N-400 interview. Good Luck to you.

I think they did some "system update"...

My status just changed from "ready for interview" that I received in February changed for "ready for interview" since October 20th, so in their eyes I'm waiting for my interview for only a few days...

I had my i751 interview last week. So I don't know if maybe they considered that a combo interview. Who knows... we'll see what they say on Wednesday.

Hello everyone,

I've finally decided to go ahead and apply for naturalization like many of you have. It wasn't an easy decision but I'm glad I took my time.

No news from YSC about ROC since fingerprints were applied back in spring of 2020. I'm hoping to hear from USCIS before my extension letter expires but that's unlikely (gotta love those routine DMV trips, huh?).

It's been a long journey but I'm thankful we all get the opportunity to live here and be with our loved ones. Keep at it y'all!

How did you get that appointment scheduled to get the stamp? My extension ends in mid-December and I need that stamp too.

Call USCIS and request an infopass appointment to the automated system to get a live agent then request the appointment to the stamp.

Hi everyone!

just wanted to update you all on my combo interview. I passed!! it was very painless. The officer was super nice and down to earth. We started with our I-751. We had to provide my passport, drivers license and green card. My husband had to give his driver license.
We went through our application- asked questions on our own families. We were asked how we met. Lots of chit chat between. She asked if I had any additional evidence I’d like to submit which I gave her my tax transcripts and extra photos. She then asked my husband to step out so we can conduct the N400.

she went through what would happen. Go over the application, civics test and then the eligibility. I got asked 4 questions:

Why do some states have more reps?
General Eisenhower was in What war?
How long does the president serve?
What is one responsibility of a US citizen?

I had to read a statement ( I can’t remember) and wrote on a tablet “Washington was the first president”.

went over the yes/no questions.
Then she handed me a piece of paper which stated I passed the N400. She explained my Green card will be mailed to me regardless and then a letter will be mailed with a date of my Oath ceremony. Everything was returned to me including my expired GC. She said to bring both GC to ceremony where they will be taken. She congratulated me and said let’s get back to your husband.
I was done! Phew!!

Good luck to all those still waiting! Your time will come and it will be amazing!!

Question for the group - My wife and me are planning to go to India and we are leaving together from NY on 17th Nov (same date). We are coming back on diff dates (she on 11th Dec and me on 22nd Dec). I-751 extension letter expires on 26th Dec and was reconsidering whether I should go or not today.

I called USCIS to get an Infopass appointment for a stamp on my passport but was placed into the non urgent queue and told me to wait for the officer to call back.

Am I cutting it too close in coming back and any issues I can run into?

Beware incompetence of some agents.

I just was told that if I will not get a stamp I will have to leave the country

That was something that upset me the most. I asked "what are the next steps then" and I got "nobody knows"... it agitated me and I gently asked to be redirected to the supervisor, but the agent just logged out.

It is scary! Years ago I would have panicked and started packing....
