N400 March 2020 Filers

Hi everyone! 

 

We're late to join this group: N-400 was submitted March 9, 2020; biometrics appt was scheduled for early April 2 but then subsequently canceled due to COVID shutdown. 

 

We were just notified yesterday, May 23, that ROC application was approved and green card is being produced! So a bit of good news.

Hi. Yes, that is correct: no interview for AOS or ROC.

So guys, I thought the reopening was going to be on June 4th. But apparently, ASC (for biometrics) won’t be doing services until later.  it’s on the USCIS website. I an just hoping they can reuse biometrics or at least do background check without the fingerprints. 😿

I read elsewhere on these forums that they will reuse biometrics where possible.  Those people will be informed that biometrics will be reused.  The rest of us get to wait some more.

I don't think so. Do you have a link? The news I read is:

 

 For those with cancelled appointments, including asylum, naturalization or biometrics appointments, USCIS has indicated they will send notices to affected individuals with specific safety requirements (which may be in addition to those laid out above) and guidance on who may attend an appointment with the applicant or petitioner. 

 

Clearly biometrics is resumed with other services.

In some cases it's the same building, but most often ASC offices are not near field offices (mine is far away from the field office).

No. It’s done in Application Support Centers

I've submitted my application on March 20th based on 5 year as a Green Card owner 90 days before the anniversary. No appointment yet, just a receipt. 

Do you think if they re-use biometrics, does it mean the next step in the process will be the interview?

In my case I was advised that I might not have to have biometrics taken again, since I had them taken in Jul 2019 for removal of condition. In that case I would just be called straight for the interview. But it is a guess and nobody knows for sure.

When I got the Green Card, I had biometrics and interview in the same building, that is the Des Moines, Iowa field office.

I don't know what they do in other cities but I hope to find out soon.

Hi everyone,

Seems like USCIS is having a webinar next week regarding the office openings : https://www.uscis.gov/outreach/uscis-offices-resume-person-services

I have some issues registering for it. Hopefully they will say something good, but since it's only next week, I feel like it's not going to happen even this summer.
