Evidences to submit with N400

The N400 instructions only state that passport photos, copy of Green Card, current marriage document copy are all that is required to be included.

 

Yet the VJ guides state to attach everything else, i.e. previous divorce decrees, spouse BC, proof of living together, etc. etc.

 

What have others been including in the initial N400 filing?

 

Have you been front loading with all the "other" documents or not?

I filed online and only submitted the required documents. I'll bring other proof to the interview.

Read the requirement for the passport phots as not everyone has to submit those.  Like @Quarknase, my wife only submitted the required evidence and took everything else to the interview.

Photographs. Only applicants who reside overseas must provide two identical color photographs of yourself taken recently. The photos must have a white to off-white background, be printed on thin paper with a glossy finish, and be unmounted and unretouched. Passport-style photos must be 2” x 2”. The photos must be in color with full face, frontal view on a white to off-white background. Head height should measure 1” to 1 3/8” from top of hair to bottom of chin, and eye height is between 1 1/8” to 1 3/8” from bottom of photo. Your head must be bare, unless contrary to your religious beliefs. Using a pencil or felt pen, lightly print your name and A-Number (if any) on the back of the photo.

Yes re-read the instructions and since she lives in the US, no photos are required.   Tnx for that.   Form into the mail tomorrow.

I would file online if I were you. Much easier and no change of it getting lost on the way.

I did not front load, only uploaded my green card and the marriage certificate.

We uploaded green card, marriage certificate, US citizens birth certificate, 3 years joint tax returns, both our ID’s showing same residence, joint health insurance doc and bank statements going back to when we first opened it

The instructions I'm seeing DO ask for divorce decrees, tax documents, etc. It also doesn't say anything about translated documents but I'm assuming they'll want a translated version of my divorce decree, no?

 

Also, wouldn't they already have all of this on file, anyway?

Did anyone ONLY send in the IRS tax transcript? I looked at the document worksheet for the N400 and it said: 

• tax returns, leases, bank accounts, mortgages, or birth certificates of children, OR 
• IRS certified copies of the income tax forms that you both filed for the past three years, OR 
• An IRS tax return transcript for the last three years 

I was hoping we could just pick one option and personally I'd go for the third cause that is the most simple and straightforward. What did you guys do/What do you recommend?

Filed online and submitted only what was asked for. Originals and additional evidence can be brought at the time of the interview
