Aww we never wanted to be pushed back again on the line :( maybe you can write your expedite request now!

we’ve decided to let it process at its own speed..purely because by the time I get interviewed (march 🤞) and get my passport back a few weeks later, we’ll have been married 2 years (April) and I’ll get 10 year unconditional GC..

expedite would only save a couple of weeks at this stage.. we’d be foolish to push for it and have to fart around with ROC in 21 months at added cost.. so kind of makes sense to go slow now.

AOS Journey

  • EAD approved 12 March 2021
  • Interview Completed 24 March 2021

Hey all,

I recently got DQ and my country is Hong Kong. However, I've been in the US since I was a child, and with the Coronavirus spreading like wildfire, and HK declaring a state of emergency, will NVC continue to send me off to HK?

Quick question for somebody that might know better:

I got my passport renewed this month even though it was good for another 1.5 years cause I didn't wanna go through the hassle of renewing it in America. Currently waiting for DQ.

Do I have to let NVC know? Or is it an issue that doesn't really matter as long as I have both the old and new passport at interview?

Update* was just able to make the payments, via Firefox. It did crash in between paying the AOS then IV fee, but ultimately was successful!

For anyone who got their case number this past Monday or around then and paid, are you able to begin filling out the ds 260 and affidavit of support, or does it still say in process?  I paid on Tuesday and I still can’t begin!

Hello aabd1087,

We got our welcome email on Tuesday Jan21rst in the evening and we paid on the next morning, so Wed Jan22nd.

For the moment, it still says "in process".

It says on the email that it will take a week to process.

Take care,

Hi guys,

question about tax transcripts vs. 1040 and W-2’s.

i have my transcripts for the tax’s years of 2017 and 2018 but would like to use my 2019 taxes as well, I will be filling 2019 taxes this week, and will only have the 1040 form and W-2s for the 2019 Tax year.

Has anyone used both tax transcripts and 1040 with W-2’s for multiple years?

Or should i just upload 2019 only 1040 and W-2. I make over the 125% poverty line and am using the I-864ez.  I hope that makes sense. Thanks for any help!

Hi everyone,

It’s been 4 working days since I submitted my payment for AOS and IV fee then the status still IN PROCESS. According from NVC instructions, wait 2 to 3 working days to process the payment. Do I need to call the NVC to follow up the status of my payment? Your comments and answers would be greatly appreciated.

Were the funds taken from your bank account yet? It's 2-3 days from the time they withdraw the money

Lily,

The money was taken from my bank account after the day I submitted my payment.

Which day was it taken out? If it was just on Thursday or Friday then it probably won't show "paid" until tomorrow (Monday) or Tuesday because nothing is processed on the weekends. You don't need to call NVC though unless it ends up being 7 business days or more without update
