Nutty day. 

 

I left an message for Himself's eye clinic over the holiday, and they got back to me this morning. They told me to take him to Little Rock VA Ophthalmology . Left here at 1100 and got back in the door half an hour ago. They wanted to keep him but he wasn't having any of that. It's be best part of two and a half hours, away and I am not driving that twice a day either.

 

He managed to talk them into letting him come home, on the promise he would go to Fayetteville VA ER tomorrow. They need to run a stroke protocol, but I think by the time he gets there four days is a bit late. Today would have been late for that matter. It's like living with a ticking time bomb.

 

Herself was frantic. We don't usually leave her, and didn't leave a light  on when we left this morning, who knew, and we were five hours late for her dinner. Likely the same thing tomorrow.

Cat T-B.'s general bloodwork completely normal except for glucose, diabetic miu man.

Cat T-B.'s thyroid results completely normal, not cause of appetite/thirst/pupu miu man.

Earlier, Cat T-B.'s gastrointestinal panel results completely normal, see above man.

Cat T-B.'s fizzicle examinations also consistently normal, nothing obvious man.

 

Insulin dose increased, shoot up miu we man.

Next $tep is ultra$ound et al. to look for masses or anything unusual, $$$$$$igh man.

Well good to know that the blood work etc was normal.

 

One thing they may not have checked was your cat's calcium levels.  Sometimes bloodwork does, and sometimes it doesn't.  Hypercalcimia in cats can cause intestinal issues, but generally the opposite of your problems.

 

Hopefully the U/S will give you a clue, but nothing not treatable.

Cats tend to hide when they're really sick, as they're small predators and easily preyed upon themselves.  Tbone if your cat is still being happy and friendly otherwise, it hopefully isn't something you can't treat.

Nero went to the vet today too.  He keeps getting these scabby spots on his body.  They're a skin infection from his allergies.  Something he's touching or eating is causing him to break out, but not in hives.  I think it's something outside so we're being more diligent about watching him and keeping him out of bushes etc in the back yard.  I may go out there and chop everything down that isn't a tree when this snow melts.  His allergy meds are expensive enough, plus he has special food, and now vet visits and antibiotics.  Oh and a special shampoo.  

Kiddo is visiting and I keep having to work.  It wouldn't be so bad if it was just mornings but I'm having to do the nights too since my girl that quit, (thankfully) didn't show up for her last shifts.  Oh well... I have a new night person, just need to work on the morning shift again.

It was a bit. He isn't a surgical candidate, and given his other hx I am not sure what anyone can offer.

 

We headed out again this morning to Fayetteville. They were confused. They had no desire to keep him, and the Doc there was actually sensible. He asked for the phone number to the TN transplant team, and will ask if there is anything Himself could have besides the aspirin he already takes. 

 

We were back in under five  hours, and Herself was happy to see us. She didn't appreciate at all that we left the house again his morning without her.  Just as well we did get back, the weather radio has been going off and it is very windy and noisy outside. I will sit up until the tornado watch ends, and then I am crashing. All this going back and forth and mucking about is tiring.

Feeling it a bit, s'gonna happen. I'm thankful for this place.

Went skating yesterday, first time over here, skating helps but heckin I'm outta shape-at my age 6 months sans proper exercise really hurts.....I rekon once I get college started to & some kind of job Ima thinking I'll sign up to one of the local roller derby teams as a ref.

In other news I'm eating all the cheese, I also have pickled garlic!

Vet noted much the same about miu man, note she re miu man:  any fatal condition way down list of differential diagnoses, relief for now man.
